New characters introduced this season include Orlando Jones as Brad, whom Jeff is surprised to find that he likes despite his being gay, and Timmy (Adhir Kalyan), nominally Russell's "assistant" but in reality his servant and all-around whipping boy. The latter is a great addition; in the "Family Style" episode, Russell's dating a therapist who refuses to take him on as a patient, so he sends Timmy in his stead, with hilarious results. Elsewhere, veteran actor Brian Dennehy guests as Jeff's father, whose chauvinism toward women in general and Audrey in particular makes his son look like the Dalai Lama, while other funny story lines involve Audrey pretending to be pregnant in order to get special treatment at work, Jeff injuring his back (and confronting his creeping senescence) playing softball, and Russell trying to induct a wide-eyed Amish visitor into his depraved lifestyle. With its constant sexual innuendo and gags about homosexuality, male braggadocio, and such, Rules of Engagement isn't exactly for intellectuals; nor is it likely to join All in the Family, M*A*S*H, Seinfeld, and others in the pantheon of immortal sitcoms. But that shouldn't stop this entertaining show from continuing to find a broad and loyal audience. --Sam Graham

Inconsistent!,

I'm shocked at some of the other reivews. I realize that humor is subjective but come on, Season 3 was a mess and it wasn't until about mid-season 4 when they got back on track with streamlining the stories and humor once again. Spade was weak and for THIS show, Spade needs to be STRONG man, not strong like a real man which he... isn't quite... sort of a real boy!.. but really, they needed to focus on the Spade stuff that Spade does best and they went off in too many directions.

Season 3 of Rules of Engagement is VERY good.
Seasons 3 consists of thirteen episodes that aried from March - May 2009 as a midseaon pick up. Boxed Set: Season 3 comes in a DVD Boxed Set with all 13 Episodes spread across 2 discs. The front cover has the cast laying on the show's famous Bed with the text "Rules of Engagement: The Complete Fourth Season." This set, sadly, contains absolutely no bonus material or motion menus. The menu is a picture (the picture is the EXACT same as the cover) with the choices Play All, Episodes, or Set Up. Disc 1: The first disc comes in a DVD slip cover. The front cover has a englarged picture of Jeff (Patrick Warburton) and Audrey (Megyn Price) and a small picture of Russel (David Spade)in the corner. The back cover features an episode list with descriptions of each episode. The art on the disc features Audrey, Jeff, and Russel (with the same exact same pictures of them as the front cover). The first disc contains episodes 1-7. The second disc comes in another DVD slip cover. The front cover features an enlarged picture of Jennifer (Bianca Kajlich) and Adam (Oliver Hudson) with a small picture of Russel in the Russel (David Spade) in the top corner. The bac freatures an episode list with descriptions of each episode. The disc art features Adam, Jennifer, and Timmy (Adhir Kalyan - credited as "Special Guest Star" during this season) with the same pictures as the front cover. Disc 2 contains episodes 8-13. The Season: This season of Rules of Engagement is my 2nd favorite of the whole series, close behind Season 4. This seasons cast members include Patrick Warburton, Megyn Price, Oliver Hudson, Bianca Kajlich, and David Spade. Although he is included on the front cover, Adhir Kalyan as Timmy is not a series regular on the show during this season. He is credited as "Specail guest star" throughout the season. The set is a pretty good one. Its sad that there are no bonus material, but if you're a fan of the show like me then it won't matter if there's features. You're just in it for the episodes! Thanks for reading. I hope my review gave some good insight to the set itself. I try not to make my entire review about the episodes, because when I read reviews I like to hear about what I'm buying, not what the season consisted of.

I placed the order with speed shipping. The order took a little longer than expected but the product still came within the time frame. I was very happy with the purchase. The product was in good condition. The boxes were dented on the corners though.
