I do what Dale Siegel does and.....,

This review is from: The New Rules for Mortgages (Mass Market Paperback)
as a mortgage professional for over 20 years, Dale's writing on the topics necessary for any homebuyer, whether it be first time or repeat is the perfect read.
The book is quick, concise and inserts the author's brand of humor on what most folks would feel is a very dry topic. I firmly believe in educating my buyers and this is a book I will recommend to them.

Excellent primer for anyone considering a mortgage in 2010,
By HCGuy "Bigtime computer geek" (St Louis Missouri) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The New Rules for Mortgages (Mass Market Paperback)
This recent book spells out everything you could possibly need to know about borrowing for a mortgage in 2010. It starts with the basics, and defines the lending process and all the options available for a borrower in this new age of lending. The book is very thorough and defines your FICO score and how it can affect your interest rate, and also what you can do to improve your credit rating. The old rules of borrowing from 10 or 20 years ago have changed substantially in the past few years, and Dale Siegel's entertaining yet detailed book can help anyone learn how things are different. There are still a lot of options available for any loan, and she steps through the various loan products, insurance, fees and add on products available in our world's very complicated borrowing procedure, from applying for the original loan through the final closing. The amazing thing about her book is she explains all of this while still keeping the book engaging and interesting. I would highly recommend this book for anyone preparing to enter the world of home ownership and taking on the largest debt of their lives. Even second and third time borrowers can find this book useful since the borrowing process has likely changed significantly from when they acquired their first mortgage.

a must read for anyone buying real estate,
This review is from: The New Rules for Mortgages (Mass Market Paperback)
As a resident of NYC, there is never enough information on how to purchase condos and coops, which make up most of the properties here. A typical how to guide, does not always cut it here in the Big Apple, but this book is not typical! Dale Siegel, did as good a job in The New Rules for Mortgages for those buying property in the mid-west as well as in urban properties. I do not know how she covered it all in 200 pages, but she covered it from soup to nuts! After reading this book from beginning to end, I am now prepared to buy my new home in the city!
This book is a must for anyone buying real estate. It's written in simple terms and easy to read. it's full of real time information for anyone buying in today's market. I loved it!

Whether your buying your first home or a second home, The New Rules for Mortgages, is an invaluable resource given today's real estate market. The "rules of the game" to getting a mortgage have really changed. The author does a fabulous job to explain the mortgage process within the context of today's changing real estate market. The combination of her informative, yet humorous and down-to-earth writing style, makes understanding the mortgage process more manageable. As a home owner and real estate investor, I purchased the book to stay on top of the "game" and arm myself with knowledge from a professional who really knows her stuff. I would HIGHLY recommend this book!

Great Mortgage Book for New and Repeat Homeowners,
This review is from: The New Rules for Mortgages (Kindle Edition)
As a current homeowner interested in moving up, naturally I would want to learn what I would need to know before I begin the process. With all the craziness in the real estate industry and the mortgage market, I wanted to bone up on the new rules. The title of this book was catchy and the release date was current enough that it would catch a lot of the newer rules.
The New Rules for Mortgages is a book worth 5x its purchase price, 10x it weight in gold and would probably save a new homeowner's butt and stop someone from making big mistakes. The author is an active loan officer and lawyer, so she speaks from her daily experience. The book is a quick read, because she gets to the point. As the ad says- concise and no fluff! Anybody who is new to buying a home or has been down the real estate road before should buy this before they begin shopping around. I have much more knowledge than I did before and feel that I am now armed with the language and knowledge to speak intelligently and not get taken advantage of. I would strongly recommend this book - it has great information and is an easy read.

Are You Considering Buying a Home? Read This Book Before You Make Another Move to Get a Mortgage,
By Nikki Leigh "Award Winning Author & Publicst" (Shenandoah Valley, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The New Rules for Mortgages (Mass Market Paperback)
When I think of some of the biggest decisions we can make in our lives - I think of things like getting married, having children, starting a business, and buying a home - to name a few. These are major things we do in our lives and these things affect our lives for many years to come -- so they are the kind of things that we should think about very carefully and thoroughly before we do them.
So why is it that so many people have no idea about the mortgage on their home? I could ask many questions about the other major decisions, but that would be different books. How many people do you know that have a 30 years (or longer) mortgage on their home, but they don't understand the terms or anything else about the loan? I admit that I'm incredibly careful about spending money and especially when it comes to a purchase of that magnitude -- so I can tell you that I discussed the details with my loan officer - I asked so many questions, that I didn't know if we would still be friends. But I understood what I was signing and I felt very good about the loan. Can you say the same about your mortgage? If you have a mortgage and you don't understand it, if you are looking for a mortgage or if you just want to understand the current mortgage market - The New Rules for Mortgages is for you. Dale Robyn Siegel is an insider - she is in the mortgage business and she has been for years. She understand what is needed to secure a loan, she knows the things you need to know long before you walk in to fill out that application and she know the dos and don'ts of getting the best mortgage for YOU. And, she knows what will keep you from getting the home of your dreams. These are all reasons why you need to read The New Rules for Mortgages. I am not a financial guru and I admit that many of the terms my mortgage officer used were foreign to me - but Siegel walks you through the entire process. These are some of the chapters in this book -- how many of these topics are things that you don't understand? The All-Important Credit Score Income Yeah, You Need That! Money Matters A Good Look at the Property What Mortgage Is Best for You? Where to Get the Best Mortgage The Loan Process Interest Rates, Closing Costs, and the Closing Types of Property Protecting Your Homeownership: Divorce, Dispute and Death You Are a Homeowner Whether you are a first time home buyer, self employed, under employer, an investor or most any other home buyer - this book has the details you need to make educated decisions when it comes to buying a home. This review is from: The New Rules for Mortgages (Mass Market Paperback)
Siegel does a good job of covering the changes in the mortgage marketplace since 2008 in an easy to understand language. At points, the book is too basic and even somewhat condescending ("you need to be able to afford the mortgage").

New Rules for Mortgages,
This review is from: The New Rules for Mortgages (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is light in weight but heavy in information. Jam packed with insightful hints and anecdotes that give any one who is really interested in undertanding what criteria loan officers consider when processing home mortgage loans.
Dale Robyn Seigel is engaging and very knowledgeable in the home loan industry, as CEO of her own company, Circle Mortgage Group, she helps hundreds of her clients to secure the best possible loans available for all types of homes. Her writings help her readers focus on the topics that are most important to understand without any unnecessary words or boring writing. The content remains relevant because she stays abreast of the market trends on a daily basis as she continues to help write policies for the home mortgage loan industry. I learned many valuable insights and industry perspectives. I am glad that I choose this book. I recommend it for everyone, whether you're a beginner looking to establish new credit or a seasoned pro who is looking to purchase your second vacation home. Its easy reading and style format makes this book informative and fun to read, a must have. The New Rules for Mortgages |
