Big Bang? Big Let Down!,
This review is from: Rules & Regulations to Pink Sunshine-Fuzzbox Story (Audio CD)
This is quite a poor collection spread out over 2 cd's. The live tracks and demos here are generally of quite a poor quality. Even the alternative versions and remixed tracks are of a far lesser standard than the original tracks. There are around 30 tracks here which (if they had to be released) should have been trimmed down to around 10. The "Big Bang" album was a real treat with expensive production boosting the girl's sound. Unplugged, though, the girls should be unheard. Sorry!

A true retrospective of the band.,

If all you've heard of Fuzzbox is "Big Bang!", you will be disappointed in this collection. As the title implies, it spans the full career of the band from their live beginnings in 1985 through to their second and final album. If you were only interested in part of that career, why would you purchase a collection of the entire career? That said, this is an excellent look at all the phases of Fuzzbox. Their naivete and enthusiasm are apparent in the early demos and live performances, and the new mixes give a fresh sound to the old tracks. Interesting new songs, and a 1990 re-make of "Do I Want To?". I love all of Fuzzbox's music, so for me this collection was just what the doctor ordered. If you didn't click with the first album, give this a miss, because there are early tunes here. Check iTunes or Last.fm for listening samples.
