About the Author
A master communicator, Elaine Smitha is a, professional speaker, consultant, workshop leader, businesswoman, and college instructor. For many years she devoted her creative talents to Elaine Smitha Fine Jewelry in Newport Beach, CA as designer/artist /craftsman, and is represented in "Whos Who in American Art" and "World Whos Who of Women."
In 1992, Ms. Smitha created the Evolving Ideas television show as a venue for cutting edge ideas, and serves as the show's bubbly host / producer. Her popular informative show has been seen in the Pacific Northwest on PAX TV Network, and on cable in Olympia and Seattle, WA, Kailua Kona and Hilo, HI, Albuquerque, NM, Vancouver, WA, Hanover, NH and Windsor, VT reaching millions of households.
She founded Webworks in 1987, sponsored workshops and events on progressive ideas for many years, and continues to be inspired by those who play on the edge.
Her innovation to raise awareness began at Valley High School in West Des Moines, IA where she initiated their first Fine Arts Week. Smitha taught at Barnsdall Arts and Crafts Center in Hollywood, CA, at Seattle's Corning School of Allied Arts, Edmonds College, Shoreline College, and Seattle Pacific University, and served as an education supervisor at St. Martin's College.
She has conducted workshops for government, business, organizations, and churches.
Elaine Smitha was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, attended Lake Forest College and Wilson Jr. College prior to earning a Bachelors and Masters of Fine Arts degree at Drake University; post graduate work at California State University - Long Beach. She now lives in the Puget Sound region of western Washington state.
