After the whole Twilight craze began, I found myself searching for something similar to quench my human-girl-and-vampire-guy appetite. The title of the first book, Hearts at Stake, caught my eye at my local bookstore and I thought "Hey, why not?". BOY was I sold. This has all the romance, action, witty dialogue and smoking hot vampires your teenage (or not-so-teenage) heart desires.
Seriously, if you love Twilight (or even if you didn't, really) you should give this a try. And with a price like that for the first THREE books, it's a steal.

I have 2 vices - golf and reading. Most paranormal novels do not cut the mustard with me. They have to have an unpredictable, well written plot intertwined with romance. I find Alyxandra Harvey to be a fantastic story teller. I've read 5 of her books and have not been disappointed in any of them.
Ruling Passion is a compilation of her first 3 Drake Chronicles. This is perfect for me as I need to read the second and third books in the series back to back.
If you liked Twilight, the Need series, or the Mortal Instruments/Immortal Instruments Series, you will also enjoy this series. I strongly recommend it.

I really enjoyed following the lives of the Drakes and loved all of the little surprises that kept popping up. I know for sure that I will be getting the rest of the series because I am already needing to learn what is going to happen with the rest of the Drake family members.
