This is a superb album from perhaps the most musicaly satisfying Cuban group performing today. I find it simply astonishing that to so many people Cuban music was viewed as having been resurected in the mid-1990's when Sierra Maestra has, for over 20 years, been committed to producing authentic Cuban music of the highest caliber. This group is solid on all fronts. The energy is there, the timbre, the rythm and all. Even the sound quality, while not up to today's standard, is at least not unbalanced and poorly mixed as so many Cuban productions are. Listen to the voice of lead singer Jose Antonio Rodriguez and it will charm you in a manner that few can. Highly recommended.
