I wanted to replace my old, identical thermometer (and clock) which, after many years of accuracy and function, had broken (my fault). The first thermometer did not register anywhere close to the accurate temperature, so I exchanged it. Promptly got a new one, and I question whether or not it is reading cool. Still, it's beautiful, and I guess warmer weather will tell if it's accurate or not.
