About the Author
Coleman Barks is a renowned poet and the bestselling author of The Essential Rumi, The Soul of Rumi, Rumi: The Book of Love, and The Drowned Book. He was prominently featured in both of Bill Moyers's PBS television series on poetry, The Language of Life and Fooling with Words. He taught English and poetry at the University of Georgia for thirty years, and he now focuses on writing, readings, and performances. a great book for what is was meant to be...a poignant reflection on rumi by two of the great post-modern "rumi-ists" !
if you want pure rumi, then go for one of the pure collections. our other reviewer must have thought this was something else. obviously.

Beautifully compiled, this little book contains not only the ecstasy of the world's greatest writings on communion with Allah, but, includes a look into the mystical world in which this gift of the Lord, lived. Very well done!
