This book is sincere, genuine and firmly rooted in the spiritual context of a great teacher. It abounds with wisdom and methods for spiritual development and every page contains a subtle gem. As an introduction to Rumi's work this book cannot be bettered. It distils the essence of his wisdom. It looks good, it feels good and it does your heart good. This Spiritual Treasury is an undoubted treasure in itself. -- amazon.co.uk
About the Author
Jalal al Din Rumi (1207-73 CE) was born in the Persian province of Khorassan (modern day Afghanistan). A disciple of the Sufi tradition, he was the figurehead of the Whirling Dervishes. Over his prolific career as both poet and scholar, his poetry is what he is best remembered for: the Masnavi, a narrative poem of 25,000 verses in six volumes, is widely considered to be the greatest spiritual masterpiece ever written.
