Review

"This story was light-hearted but surprisingly multi-layered, funny but scrumptiously sexy, showing us that sometimes the most addictive books come to us when you least expect them. Under a bubbly veil of upbeat dialogues and palpable chemistry between the characters, lies a charming tale of finding what counts the most in life and fighting to keep it. This book was the perfect balance of humor, drama, sizzle and romance, all nicely wrapped up into an entertaining story that I was unable to put down."

"Mason Nash melted me in this book. I loved, loved, loved this story. I haven't read one like it. Rapper meets hometown girl. It's original, I enjoyed Elisabeth's writing. It's a re-read. Yep!!"

"I was completely blown away by this story and finished it in one sitting. I am shocked that this is the author's debut book. I really love the way this author writes; I enjoyed the dual POV, the sex scenes were INSANE, and she literally made me laugh out loud."
- Three Girls And A Book Obsession

A "rock star romance" with a unique plot, this book had me hooked from page one, though it's the end of the first chapter where I was laughing out loud. The pacing was perfect and I would have read it in one sitting if I could have...darn life kept getting in the way! I loved the author's style of writing and thought that the dual point-of-view was particularly effective in this story. All that being said it was the characters that really shined in this story. Not only did I love the way they stayed true to who they were and what they wanted throughout the entire book, but the dialogue between them was fantastic."

More About the Author

Geez, these things are always so hard to fill out. They give me anxiety!!

Hmm...what's the need to know about me? Well I have a hot spot for alpha males and a soft spot for happily ever afters. That's first. I live outside of Toronto, Canada with my husband, two small children, and killer cat. No joke. I have a theory that Satan himself spawned the white furball. I eat a chocolate bar before 10am every day (don't judge) and I have a mild, but healthy obsession with model David Gandy (google him...you can thank me later). ;)

If you're a lover of romance novels, hot sex in obscure places, alpha males, and a little LOL on the side than you may enjoy my work! :)

I LOVE talking with fellow readers about books! There's nothing better than discovering your next favorite read because someone recommended it to you! If you're the same I'd encourage you to reach out to me via one of my social media links so we can chat!

Happy Reading!

XOXO,
El

Wow. This book had everything including a non cliffhanger ending. I liked Ellie as the female lead, she was independent and actually real, not wishy washy and making assumptions all the time. I've read a few books where I just want to strangle the heroine and tell her to just shut up and listen to Christ's sake. I loved Mason, I wasn't sure how I was going to picture a white rapper but who I kept picturing while reading this book was Macklemore and that made everything okay. Mason was sweet funny and was a man whore before we got to know him in this book but I'm glad the story didn't go on and on about his male whoriness.
Overall the story was great, I couldn't put it down. I would definitely read the next book by this author. Again I reiterate that this story didn't have a cliffhanger like so many books now a days have which was refreshing. Read it you'll like it!

'Rumor Has It' is a New Adult contemporary romance that follows lead characters Ellie Wagner and Mason Nash as their two very different lives collide and their worlds are turned completely upside down. Ellie has just graduated college when an embarrassing video of her and her ex goes up on the Internet - which basically ruins her life by preventing her from getting a good job and being seen as a slut. That's how Ellie finds herself moving back in with her mom and her latest husband and wondering how her life went so wrong. Enter Mason Nash - the newest hip hop music star who's rolling in money and fame. What will happen when Ellie's dream guy is always in the spotlight - the last place she wants to be?

This was a fun and steamy New Adult romance with deeper issues mixed into the story. Ellie is a great leading lady for the book. She's smart and determined, but she's also incredibly flawed - which I think makes her all the more realistic and easy to relate to. She makes a stupid mistake (the video with her boyfriend) which then takes on a life of its own and puts her in some bad positions. We've all been in a situation like that before, which made me love Ellie all the more. Mason is the standard man candy of the story - gorgeous, rich, famous, etc. But underneath his public persona is a completely different guy - one who is sweet, kind, and romantic. I liked that the author put two sides to Mason's character, because most people do the same thing in life - even if they aren't famous. We all wear masks in front of others to hide things about ourselves, which made me like Mason more along with giving the story an added depth.

This is a rant...You have been warned!

Sigh...where to begin? Rumor Has It started off fairly promising. Ellie is like a lot of typical 20-somethings (and 30-somethings!), has graduated and due to the downturn is working in a job that is in no way related to her field. The downturn and the fact that an embarrassing clip of her and her ex boyfriend has gone viral on YouTube making Ellie a pariah in the world of media she aches to be employed in. Living at home and working in a real estate job is not ideal for this ambitious graduate especially when her boss is a bit of a butt-head. When Ellie is dispatched by said butt-head to deliver a set of keys to the beach-house a VIP client is renting her day goes from bad to worse when she ends up stuck halfway in a bathroom window with her skirt hanging from the ledge and her backside in the face of Hip-Hop’s biggest star Mason Nash. Do you even have to guess how the rest of this goes? BAM instant attraction and it is one drama filled page after another...

Mason Nash needs a break from the drama of celebrity life (Boo! Poor rich baby!) and so has ended up in...I wanna say Virginia? Anyway his welcome to the state is an eyeful of Ellie’s butt (if you want to know why she’s hanging out with her ass on display read the book because I can’t even...) and naturally when she turns around he’s captivated by her stunning looks, her snarky charm and the fact that she has no idea who he is. FINALLY he can be himself and someone can get to know his soul! Huzzah! Anyway they get together and it’s all fun and games apart from a drunken mom, several misunderstandings and over-reactions and a gun comes into play somewhere because god forbid there wasn’t enough ridiculous drama.

Ellie is a recent college graduate that is working at a real estate agency until she can find a 'real job'. Due to unfortunate circumstances, she meets (in an awkward way) hip hop artist, Mason.
Mason is young, 23, and sexy, talented and is interested in Ellie right away.
Ellie is a pretty, sometimes confident, young woman, at a young age of 21.

This book had a lot of potential. But the execution fell really flat for me. Ellie is supposed to be confident, smart and kind. Yes, she is thrown into a situation with a woman's shelter that is supposed to make you feel like she is super compassionate and engaging, but just describing it doesn't work for me. I love to 'see it' in action, hear the actual conversations that show how compassionate she is.
She meets Mason's younger sibs, but hardly engages with them. I expected her to be rolling around the floor with them, making up stories, making them laugh, etc. But I didn't see any of that. yet at the end of the visit, the kids are hugging her and feeling super comfortable with her?
Also, Mason says that he is falling for her so hard because of some her great qualities, but again, the author describes this, but I didn't read it 'in action'. Didn't really see her great characteristics in action, didn't hear the conversations b/w Mason and Ellie that would attract each other.
The characters seemed to have little depth, and minimal development. Just didn't feel engaged with either one of them.

Mason is working so hard to make their relationships work - that SHE is the one - then at the end, he completely flips out.
Ellie is constantly doubting herself. Yes, Mason is gorgeous, famous, and used to date models. But she seems to doubt herself all the time.
