Rumors of War Offers a Wild Ride,
By Natalie R. Collins (Kaysville, Utah United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rumors of War (Paperback)
I'm not easily surprised, but the twists and turns offered up in Peggy Tibbetts' Rumors Of War kept me on the edge of my seat. In Ilene, she gives us a not entirely sympathetic heroine, and makes us like her. She deftly explores the vagaries of human nature, and makes us question all that we thought we knew. A novel just about war this is not. Instead, it's a multi-faceted romp with ties to the Chicago Mafia, the FBI, and the very frailty of human nature.A must read, especially for those tired of writers with plots easy to guess.

A Must Read!,
By Charlene Austin (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rumors of War (Paperback)
Peggy Tibbets, Rumors of War, captures the emotional roller coaster, that military families must deal with as they watch their loved ones march off to war; then, handle the everyday, mundane, stuggles of a stressfull modern life, while glued to an impersonal TV screen seeking some word, or hint that their loved ones are safe. Into this the author weaves, subtly at first, underlying conspiracies, and intrigue. Ilene Singleton, is emotional, strong, human, and belivable, as she struggles to deal with the loneliness, added responsibilites, and the mounting evidence that her family is in danger. Her two children typical and lovable. Her wealthy inlaws, interfering and controlling. The carpenter working on her house a complication she doesn't need. And the reader, is pulled onto the roller coaster and anxiouly turning pages as the tension mounts. A Must Read!

Prepare yourself to read it twice,

You feel yourself falling into their trap through the skin of Ilene Singleton as you become wrapped up in the tale. Tibbetts has written a plot of demanding twists, then seemlessly wove them into a captivativing story of life, love and the greater lie. Make sure you set aside plenty of time, because once Rumor of War draws you in it doesn't let you go until the final page, then this great story demands a second read.
