Delightful adventure that also teaches children,
By Armchair Interviews (Minneapolis, MN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Rumpoles And the Barleys: A Little Story About Being Thankful (Hardcover)
Eustace and Prunella are a lot like brothers and sisters all over the world. The only difference is they are mice.
Eustace and Prunella live with their parents in the Rumpole Manson outside of Dilbury Town. During a party at the mansion, the siblings quarrel and are sent to their room. But the naughty mice sneak out of their bedroom window, fall down into a farm wagon filled with garbage. The mice, separated from their parents and home, meet some interesting country mice who help them learn a valuable lesson about appreciation and thankfulness. The Rumpoles and The Barleys is a delightful adventure and teaching tale that will capture children's attention with the compelling story and the rich, vivid illustrations. Actually the illustrations are stunning! The attention to detail is so much fun. And the pictures are so beautiful that I continue to look at the book just to admire the artwork. Armchair Interviews says: The Rumpoles and The Barleys is a children's book that adults and children will enjoy. And while everyone is having fun, a valuable lesson is taught. |
