Run Athletics launched in the Fall of 2003 by Hip Hop visionary Russell Simmons and his brother Joseph Simmons (a.k.a. Rev Run) former member of Rap group RUN DMC. Rev Run partnered with Phat Pharm footwear in 2001 and served as the President. His insight on sneakers and notoriety have attributed to the company's success. The Simmons brothers have joined forces to collaborate and oversee design and marketing of Run Athletics
