Editorial Reviews

Review

Sophisticated in understatement, formally diverse and elegant... Prunty organizes his experience and orchestrates his expression to a polished degree that eludes most of his contemporaries.

4.0 out of 5 stars Poetry Without Pretentiousness, August 3, 1998
This review is from: The Run of the House (Johns Hopkins: Poetry and Fiction) (Paperback)
In clear, unaffected language, Dr. Prunty reveals myriad truths in "ordinary" situations; and he does so with controlled power and, occasionally, with great humor. As stated by Howard Nemerov, "His diction is plain, but his thoughts are not."
