Girl Power,
This review is from: Run Like a Girl: Igniting the Spark for Your Next Great Adventure! (Hardcover)
I love Kathy's work and was so excited to see yet another book out. She's an encourager who sees beauty in the mundane...and so many women I know feel their lives are mundane. Not so! Let Kathy help you see through a different set of lenses; she has a way of capturing and reflecting beauty. This is a great book for the women in your life, young or old.

Hope and encouragement,
By
This review is from: Run Like a Girl: Igniting the Spark for Your Next Great Adventure! (Hardcover)
What I love about this book is the overall theme of hope. We all need a boost at different times in our lives and this book has many great inspirational quotes and thoughts to spark one onto the next level. It is an excellent choice to give as a gift as it has something to offer women of all ages. The physical layout is appealing and very well done. There are books of this genre that one might read once and not go back to but I see this as a resource to go back to and re-read. I found that I could not absorb the whole book at one sitting because I wanted to process what was being said in each section. I highly recommend this book.

A father remembers his daughter's potential...,
By
This review is from: Run Like a Girl: Igniting the Spark for Your Next Great Adventure! (Hardcover)
As a father of two girls and a boy, I'm reminded as I read Run Like A Girl that my daughters have incalculable potential within them. Boy's are often considered to be the adventurers, and while they will climb a mountain to simply to conquer it, girls have the ability to throw a picnic lunch together and go to a distant mountain (without a map mind you) simply because the journey itself and the people along it hold mysteries filled with joy. Thanks for this wonderful window to the heart Kathy!

This book is such a gem! Yes, it is a gift book... but it is so much more! It is truly inspirational! I have given this book to numerous friends who have all fallen in love with it. It has made a tremendous impact on my life and my perspective of how God made me and beginning to pursue dreams He planted in my heart, even as a little girl! I highly recommend this book! It is hard to find and I am praying the publisher does a reprint! You will not be disappointed... it is a beautiful book!

Tableside Friend,
By Kellen (Phoenix, AZ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Run Like a Girl: Igniting the Spark for Your Next Great Adventure! (Hardcover)
Run Like a Girl has been like a good friend ever since I opened it. I decided that everyday I would only read one page, highlighting my favorite quotes or sticking a post-it so I could find a photo or passage that spoke to me. Sometimes if I'm not ready to deal with life in the morning I reach over to my tableside friend to give me an inspirational kick of espresso and find myself empowered to take on the day.

Find Your Genius,
By
This review is from: Run Like a Girl: Igniting the Spark for Your Next Great Adventure! (Hardcover)
A little gift book with a big punch - find your own cheering section on every page. Vick makes you look at yourself, see the beauty inside and out--and step out in the big world of taking risks with joy and purpose. Red shoes seem to help. I found myself making lists of friends who could use this book - yet making sure I keep my own copy to underline and tag.
For whatever reason, women need reminders like this one: "We all have genius, a place where God has touched us and left a piece of Himself behind on purpose. Our job is to discover it." RLAG offers the support to help us on that discovery run, wearing shoes or not - and Vick tells us not only how to run or why to run-- but where to run - "into God's arms." A perfect gift for girls of any age. (Be sure to keep one for yourself - and a red marker nearby.)

What a Ride!!!,

This review is from: Run Like a Girl: Igniting the Spark for Your Next Great Adventure! (Hardcover)
A good friend told me about Run Like a Girl and at 61 I so want to stay in touch with the girl inside! I looked at the cover and was immediately drawn in....oh yeah, a book for real women...lovely to look at and speaking my language. As I turned the pages I felt I had a found a kindred spirit in Kathy and all the ladies that added their thoughts and feelings to the beautifully presented pages. I felt my spirit soar as it connected with the hearts of very generous sisters from various times, ages and backgrounds. Loved finding the red Converses throughout and being nourished and nurtured with every thought and perspective I read. I just might keep this little treasure under my pillow!

Run Like A Girl,

Kathy Vick has found the language of women. I felt like I'd made friends while reading, Run Like a Girl.
A connection of the heart happened as I soaked in the beautifully printed pages. I truly felt like I made friends with Kathy (in her red shoed thoughts), Wyonna Judd, Sue Monk Kidd, and Nani Stewart. Who's Nani, you say? I don't know. But that's the beauty of Run Like a Girl...................women from all places in life became "like me". When is the last time you just wiggled your toes in the grass, jumped in a lake, or watched a sunset? You could just enjoy the photographs a lone and be encouraged to revisit a lost adventure......heck, I love just holding the book--it just plain feels good!

Food for Pondering,
By Caroline L Reid "CLR" (Bakersfield, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Run Like a Girl: Igniting the Spark for Your Next Great Adventure! (Hardcover)
Some books are for reading straight through at a clip. Some books are hard work and worth it. Some books are for "pondering" through: leisurely reading, digesting, mulling over. Run Like a Girl: Igniting the Spark for Your Next Great Adventure!is one of these books. Read it not because you need information or solutions. Read not because it's on some revered list of books you ought to read. Read instead because you seek inspiration and because there's an itch in your spirit that needs a good scratch!
Life Coach Kathy Vick has gathered quotations and photographs into a collage that speaks to a woman's soul; coaxing it out of hiding amongst the to-do lists and into a world made fresh once again. Each page is a visual and spiritual feast that will trigger your memories and imagination. She is convinced that, although we may get boring and stuck, life is not boring and definitely designed for unsticking us. Kathy wants us to re-connect with the energy and hope that once bubbled over in us like elderflower champagne; not to live in a romanticized past, but to renew our present. This book will make a fabulous gift for girlfriends of all ages, including yourself!
