A modern classical goldmine, February 12, 2011

Without going to into detail, this album is an absolute gem.
I have had Sujan's Enjoy your Rabbit for several years now. I listened to it occasionally at most... the compositions were solid, but the soundscape was at times unlistenable. His lastest work on The Age of Adz shows that he has highly refined his ability to assemble electronic textures.
Having said that, the spectacular string quartet arrangements of this music really bring out Sufjan's excellent compositional sense. This music is such a joy to listen to; it always makes me smile and feel good. The performances are delicate and refined, yet angry, energetic and even ferocious... there many sensitive moments that might choke out a tear or two. These are contrasted with a handful of noisy jams that will have you bobbing your head like you were listening to Clint Eastwood by the Gorillaz.
Support these awesome string players and buy this album. This music is oozing with life!
