Run with the pack would be my favourite Bad Co album. The first two albums coming very close to this one, but there is something more in Run With...it's more bluesy and the production defenitly catches the deep soul feeling of each songs.
Sure it doesn't contain a smashing hit like the previous albums did, but the feel is just right and the smoothness of the voice, the instrumentation and the production makes it just incredibly profound and dangerous...a highway at night.
Probably also the FREE-est Bad Co album, very mature and intense.

RUN WITH THE PACK is one of Bad Company's best albums. "Live For The Music" and "Simple Man" extol the values of keeping one's musical identity true to the roots; "Honey Child" is a pureblood boogie; "Run With The Pack" can still inspire people to get in shape 25 years after its release; and "Silver, Blue, And Gold" tells of a goal hardly seen but deeply felt. The only real lowpoint is a lame-brained, poorly-executed, unnecessary cover version of "Young Blood." However, this is still a great album.

If you like rock, buy it. If you lke blues, buy it. If you like truly "classic" rock, not what they play on the radio, buy it. This album is among the best rock albums ever made.

On this album Bad Co keep their winning streak alive. "Silver Blue and Gold" is a terrific song and "Live For The Music" is both rocking and funky.Melodic tunes that you'll be humming long after you hear them.

This Bad Company album, though not with the top 40 hits of their self titled debut record and Straight Shooter, may be the band's most consistent effort. Fantastic rock vocals by Paul Rodgers, clever riffs by Ralphs and the super group stability of Burrell's bass and Simon Kirke's drums make songs like Youngblood and the classic Silver, Blue and Gold really sing. I remember bringing the vinyl home for the first time! Great stuff.

Bad Company released its superb third album Run With the Pack in January of 1976.
By 1975, Bad Company (which comprised of ex-Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs, former Free lead singer Paul Rodgers, former Free drummer Simon Kirke and former King Crimson bass player Boz Burrell) had released two successful albums and finally toured as headliners for the first time in the US. The band went the south of France following their first headlining US tour to record their third effort in in September of 1975 with Ron Nevison recording the album while it was mixed in L.A. by legendary Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin engineer/KISS producer Eddie Kramer. This album proved that Bad Company got better each go round, as I found out in August of 1986 when I first got on cassette tape.
We open proceedings with the great Mick Ralphs penned rocker "Live For the Music" which garnered some rock radio play but was the first song penned by Ralphs not to be released as a single but the song just rocks and the ending jam between Burrell and Kirke proved they were a rhythm section to be reckoned with. Next is another Ralphs number, this time the slow but affective "Simple Man" which is a stellar song. Next is the album's second single and a great rocker "Honey Child" penned by Rodgers/Ralphs/Kirke/Burrell and a great song and Rodgers played the guitar solo on this track. Next is the ballad "Love Me Somebody" penned by Rodgers and a great song and a bluesy solo from Ralphs. The first half closes with the classic epic title cut penned by Rodgers. This too was not a single but garnered enough radio play to be the classic it is. The uptempo verses and ballad chorus was stunning and also the strings from Jimmy Horowitz was superb.

A great bunch of songs. 90% killer and very little filler.
A lot of the stuff here will haunt you for years. Lesser known songs like Simple Man and Honey child
you end up humming and strumming years later and you wonder how and when they got into your head.
Bad Company at it's smashing best.
