good book about home birth from a child's perspective, March 28, 2008
This review is from: Runa's Birth: The Day My Sister Was Born (Hardcover)
There are so few children's books available about home birth that I was thrilled to find this one on my midwife's bookshelf. I read it to our eldest, a 4 year old, shortly before our second bio child was born at home (our 3 eldest are adopted). She wanted to be at the baby's birth, so I believe it helped her when the big day came. She asked questions about some of the illustrations, and we gave her as much info as she wanted. I would really like a copy of this for our family, so I hope Amazon starts to stock it.

Runa's Birth, April 2, 2008
This review is from: Runa's Birth: The Day My Sister Was Born (Hardcover)
"Runa's Birth" along with "Welcome with love" are the two most read books in our family whenever a new baby is expected. We read it daily and both books have helped us prepare our children for the arrival of a baby. Our children were all calm during the homebirth they have witnessed and I believe it was because of the preparation both books provided. Runa's Birth has beautiful illustrations and treats birth as natural. It is a wonderful way to talk about birth in a meaningful positive way. It is a hard to find book but we love it and have given it to friends when they prepared for a home birth.
