Del Shannon wrote some of the most distributing and depressing songs in rock music. The eerie landscapes and sounds of songs like the classic "Runaway", "Hats Off to Larry", "Keep Searchin' (Follow the Sun)", "Little Town Flirt" & "Stranger In Town" speak of true heartache and despair. The sound that Mr. Shannon created was original and nothing before or since has quite matched the moodiness of these songs.
