5.0 out of 5 stars The sweet ones always get to me :-), July 21, 2001
This review is from: Runaway (Harlequin Historical, 416) (Paperback)
Will and Cassie are truly "made for each other". Will is a man of honor and Cassie is a proud and intelligent woman.

There are a series of lies, half truths, and misleading statements. But instead of making the reader feel that the book was a hopeless tangle of deceit, Ms. Davidson slowly lets Will and Cassie untangle all the untruths - one at a time and in the proper order.

This one truly came to life for me - sometimes I could hear the accents of the dialogue and see the expressions on their faces. It's been on my keeper shelf since I first read it and I'm sure it will stay there for some time to come.

Enjoy!!

5.0 out of 5 stars the hero and heroine were a perfect match, May 29, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Runaway (Harlequin Historical, 416) (Paperback)
I have read all of Carolyn Davidson's books and this is one of my favorites. She puts just the right humor and drama in her books to keep me reading on. The heroine was the perfect blend of innocence and maturity without ignorance. She was not a push over for the hero, he really had to work at having the heroine fall for him or so he thought. The hero has just the right amount of patience and thoughtfulness to understand that something happened to the heroine to take his time with her. When the heroine's secret came out the hero realizes that he must get beyond her past to keep her, quickly, and that is the way I like to read an ending.

I liked this book. It was interesting with a plot that keeps things moving. The MCs came across with an odd mix of smart and naive at times, but it could be overlooked. All in all a good read.
