Parents, listen!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Runaway Me: Survivor's Story (Paperback)
Runaway Me should be on the reading list of every parent. It will open their eyes to aspects of life our teenagers get into so easily, but we as parents too often pay no attention to. This book is written from experience, with insight, and with heart, so that other young people may find their way out quicker and with less pain. Anybody with interest in our young generation will appreciate what this author has to say, especially parents of soon to be teenagers.

Great book, reference,

Evan Cutler's autobiographical account of being a teen runaway tells the very real trials that face kids on the street. He does not glamorize the life he lived, nor does he use scare tactics. He tells it like it was.The most useful part of the bookis the reference section. Mr. Cutler has included references for parents and teenagers, runaways and those who know someone who has runaway. Every person who works with children - especially with adolescents - should have a copy of this book.

The Place to Start,

This review is from: Runaway Me: Survivor's Story (Paperback)
Evan's honesty and sincerity with his own story create an environment for breaking cycles of violence in our society. The resources in the final part of this book provide a road map and compass, challenging us to put them to use.

This review is from: Runaway Me: Survivor's Story (Paperback)
An explicit portrayal of reality in a culture that makes heroes of fiscal icons, extreme beings and party queens, Runaway Me tells the story of what goes on after everyone else has returned home for curfew. A "real world" EYE OPENER for teens and adults alike.

Everyone should read this book! I know Evan personally, and his experiences have opened my eyes to side of life I had thought about many times as a teen. His personal accounts reach out to runaways and troubled teens all over the world. "Runaway Me" is the "Scared Straight" of books.

I've known Evan personally for several years. I know he knows from personal experience what he's talking about. He also has worked diligently to try to reach out to other runaways with service and compassion, listening to their stories, giving them encouragement and advice, and just being their friend. He can be trusted... A friend, Dean Cozzens

This review is from: Runaway Me: Survivor's Story (Paperback)
I was awed by reading Evan Cutler's chronicle as a runaway 15-year-old, and the trials and tribulations he went through while he was on the lam. I recommend this book to any teen who may consider running away, because life on the streets can be meaner than anything you face at home. Although this is a hard to find, out of print, self-published book, I find the story gripping and touching. The book also lists resources for troubled youth.
