I am presently reading Rungs on My ladder by Minister Riley and I musT say the topic itself is quite intriging, but the contents on the inside of the book is mind blowing and worth reading. You see many of us wants the anoiting from God on our lives but we do not understanD that the anoiting come with a cost and a great responsibility from God. Min Riley told us of her experience in walking with the saviour and allowing him to perfect that which concerns her in every arear of her life. I have had the opportunity to meet Min Riley and she such a wonderful addition to the body of christ, that I must say is worth knowing. God Bless You

Rungs on my Ladder, by Evangelist Eleanor Riley, is a testimony to the goodness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Throughout her spiritual memoir, Ms. Riley outlines each experience in her life as a progression up her faith ladder. The book starts with a recount of how, as a child in Jamaica, Eleanor found the Lord and, throughout the trials of her life, never doubted His faithfulness.

Although I think Ms. Riley does a fine job at testifying, I did not find her life story all that compelling. As she herself professes in Rung 6, "The beginning of my Christian life was not a very exciting one to be honest." Her father was a deacon and played many important roles in the church and held daily devotions for his family of nine children. From there we are taken step-by-step through her profession as a bookkeeper earning enough money to migrate to the United States, meeting and marrying her husband, starting a church with him, having two children, and realizing her dream of becoming a recording artist.

Outside of a life-threatening illness that lasted 18 months, the challenges she faces along the way are really no more extraordinary than anyone else's. A couple of accidents where she suffers only minor injuries, finding genuine friendship, and facing discouragement along her life journey are a few of the trials she writes about.

As a memoir, I found the book slightly lacking, however, as an Evangelist Ms. Riley does a very good job of tying bible verses to her various situations and giving glory to the Lord.

This book is an inspiration and the author is blessing from God. She is an Evangelical woman of God. I know Mrs. Riley and she is a sweet woman, this book is an upliftment, a true literature that should be in your library.
