Certainly it's because the sharp 60° carbide inserts are buried deep into the bar and brazed in on 4 facets (instead of just 2 or 3) to keep them put. Or maybe it's because they strategically place multiple wear pads at the highest wear points including one right in front of the steering carbide where bar erosion is the greatest. It could be that you like how the rolled 1/2" profile bar was designed to protect the carbide as it wears, making them far outlast your expectations.
