The battery can be replaced. The light and battery assembly easily pulls out of the reflective cuff. When the assembly is out, slide the rubber housing that covers the LED and partially covers the battery, slide it off of the battery. Once the rubber cover is off of the battery you will see the metal cover that is over the battery and the two prongs of the metal cover that go through the battery holder assembly and are soldered on the back side. The metal cover does not come off. But you can bend part of the cover up and expose half of the battery. Get a screw driver put it on the opposite side of where you bent the cover up and push the battery out through where the metal cover is bent up. Slide the new battery in (make sure you put the battery in with the positive side facing toward the metal cover) and bend the metal cover back down. Slide the light and battery assembly back in the reflective cuff and you are ready to go. It is a 3 volt #2032 button shaped battery. You can get these batteries at Fry's Electronics for less than $2. This whole operation takes about a minute. Real easy. Even though the manufacturer set this up so the battery is not replaceable, it can easily be done. Like I said, this is really easy. After you have done this once, the second time will only take about 30 seconds. I hope this helps.

I'm using this on my calf as opposed to my arm, fits better, and compliments my Runners World reflective vest nicely. But the light is not all that bright honestly. It has two main points of light on either end of the white strip and the middle while lighted is not a very bright source of light. I wear it with one facing the direction forward and the other facing back. It adds a little more visability, but not a tremendous amount. four stars.

This item delivers with the lights, but I weigh only 115 pounds and had to stitch it so it wouldn't fall off of my arms. Perhaps an adapter or additional sizes would have been helpful.

Well, I originally bought this LED armband as a Christmas stocking stuffer for my son who's away at college. As a long distance runner, he often has to resort to doing his training runs after dark, especially during the short daylight hours of winter. I thought this would be just the thing to make sure that motorists saw him. However, it will only keep him safe if he actually WEARS it...which he doesn't.

Rather than bother to return it, I now attach it to my dog's collar when we go out for late (dark) evening walks in the woods and down country roads. It turns out that the dog is much more cooperative than my son when it comes to his safety. I used to be worried about him being mistaken for a deer during hunting season (he's a very large, deer-colored pooch). Now I figure that even if there are hunters around, they'll see the light on his collar and not confuse him with a deer or coyote. (I keep the light on steady-on rather than flashing so that it doesn't bug the dog.) So, while it isn't being used for its original intended purpose, I'm still happy with my purchase.

Another reviewer faulted it because the light was not bright enough to "see where you're going." I'm pretty sure that most buyers are aware that its intended use is to make the wearer more visible to others...not to "light the way."

I purchased this so that I would be illuminated during evening runs. It is very light weight and bright which is exactly what I was looking for in those areas. There are two problems with this piece. One: the light does not stay on for very long. I am constantly stuck with having to push the button to make it turn on again. It is not easy to do so I have to stop my run to adjust it. The other issue is that it doesn't stay in place, like most bands, it tends to move down the arm as you are moving.

Ran at night time in the Texas Independence Relay... I used the flashing feature and didn't notice it that much while I was running, but my team mates in the follow van said that I "lit up" well. If safety is a concern, then these guys do the trick.

This is a must for runners that wake up in the wee hours to get a run in before work. I've been using it for months and it stills works like a charm. I notice that cars go out of their way, thus they are seeing me well in the dark hours.

While the product does what it says, I don't feel like the light is very bright and noticeable. I'd rather have a motorist be disturbed by the brightness of my light as opposed to wondering what it was that made that sound just now...
