4.0 out of 5 stars Good, not great, September 25, 2007
This review is from: Runnin' the Show: Basketball Leadership for Coaches and Players (Paperback)
Obviously Dick Devenzio was impressive in many ways. His ability and drive was amazing as was his passion for teaching. Were this review on him, it would be an unqualified 5+.

Running the Show offers some of Dick's ideas on leadership and you can "feel" his enthusiasm through the words. On the other hand, there is not a whole lot that can be learned if you are an "old hand". I gave it to my 14year old and I fully expect that she will get more out of it than I did.

It is well written and I heartily recommend this for younger and/or less experienced players and coaches.

5.0 out of 5 stars Be a better coach, January 18, 2011

This review is from: Runnin' the Show: Basketball Leadership for Coaches and Players (Paperback)
My husband is a high school boys basketball coach in a small town in Texas. He has many of Dick DeVenzio's books and they are worn out! He gave a copy to his assistant coach and to a couple of his players. He says that the advice given in the book has made him a better, more exact coach. He would highly recommend this book to anyone who is currently coaching or thinking about entering that field.

5.0 out of 5 stars Basketball Bible, August 7, 2008
This review is from: Runnin' the Show: Basketball Leadership for Coaches and Players (Paperback)
If I could incorporate many of the things DeVenzio talks about, I could be a very special player.

A way for basketball players to gain insight and knowledge that will help them gain an edge over their opponents.
