Editorial Reviews

Product Description
2007 debut album from the Australian hard rockers. Airbourne are the most exciting band to emerge from the Oz Rock scene in decades! Bred on a healthy diet of Rose Tattoo, The Angels and AC/DC, these boys know how to rock...HARD!! Running Wild, recorded in L.A. and mixed by the legendary Andy Wallace, takes us back to the good ol' days when booze, girls and bangin' your head was all that mattered. Riff upon riff, Airbourne build upon their Aussie Hard Rock heritage and bringing it screaming and stomping into the modern age! Capitol.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is Too Good to Be True!, September 27, 2007
Growing up in the 1980's was a treat, because of the music. Bands like AC/DC, Scorpions, LA Guns, Billy Idol were staples on rock radio and MTV. Pop music had a sense of direction, and there was no self-loathing in the lyrics. This band, Airbourne, is a modern reincarnation of early AC/DC and Bad Company, and it hits hard from the get go. The melodies and riffs don't let up, and wow do these songs stay in your head all day! "Runnin' Wild" is the best hard rock song to be released in years, and yes it is the one from the Madden 2008 soundtrack. I purchased this album from an mp3 store but I enjoyed it so much I want the original artwork. There is not a dull moment on this entire CD. It is like stepping into the best moments of 1980's hair metal WITHOUT leaving 2007. The music has a bass-heavy, modern vibe to it, and it is not at all pretentious and it DOESN'T TRY TOO HARD!!! The Darkness and Buck Cherry will be an afterthought once this band hits it big in the US. This CD has renewed my faith in sensible melodic hard rock, and it stands as my lone hard rock album of the 2000's that I consider a classic along the lines of AC/DC's "Back In Black," Van Halen's debut album, Metallica's "Ride the Lightning," Guns n Roses' "Appetite for Destruction," and most notably Def Leppard's "Hysteria."

5.0 out of 5 stars Watch out USA - Airbourne are coming..., January 25, 2008
I'm not gonna repeat others, suffice to say this record rocks & sounds really great. A lot of money was well spent on this.

The real strength of this band is their live show. America - you are gonna absolutely love these guys. I've seen them two times over abt 2 years here in Australia & the improvement has been immense. They are loud, energetic, down-to-earth, sound great, & have established a dedicated and fanatical following here at home. For many years I have not seen a pre-gig vibe like I saw for these guys last night.

Unlike The Darkness who promised much but failed to deliver, these guys know what they're on about & what they have to do. I feel the second or third album will break them world-wide, provided they keep improving the songs. This album will be seen as the classic debut that everyone missed at the time.

They are touring the States this year. Go & see them, you will NOT regret it.

Steve.
