After reading Smith's first book and giving it five stars, I found this one to be a major disappointment. It appears that Smith thinks his readers want to focus on characters that are into the kinky NY sex scene. If the kinky sex thing is going to continue to be part of each of his books then I will be reading a different author's work. The writing is good, but enough with the focus on the kinky sex! I'm just not into the black leather and harness thing. Most likely, I will purchase Smith's next book but I hope he comes up with a fresh topic.

This was another good read by Christopher Smith. From page one he pulls you in on a roller coaster ride filled with adrenaline, twists and turns.

A murderous plot is going on and Christopher takes us on a journey that gives us the perspective of the murdered, the murderers and the people hunting them. Once you think you have things figured out, you're thrown for a loop.

I will admit that the book started off with a bang, slowed up for a bit in the middle and then took off again at the end. Much like a true roller coaster ride. I'm not complaining but if you're looking for 100% action you will have to put up with some slow parts to build to the intense action.

There were a few spots where some minor typos occured (the instead of they, he instead of her) but they were very few and far between. They also didn't impact the book in any way or make it hard to understand.

My hats off to the writer for ending Running with the Bulls making us just want more. He gave us a nice cliffhanger that sets up his next book very nicely. If I wasn't already waiting anxiously for his next book after Running of the Bulls, I can't wait!

Christopher Smith doesn't disappoint in his new novel, Running of the Bulls. Manhattan is the backdrop for this thriller that follows assassins as they knock off high powered Wall Street types one by one. But what's the connection, why such a bloody path of destruction, and who is behind this evil? This fast paced novel will leave you breathless as you race ahead of the killers trying to figure out their next move.

Take a private investigator, a news reporter, an author, a couple of detectives, a hit man and his partner, a psychic and lots of influential people, add a series of murders and you have Running of the Bulls. Although there are many characters, the storyline is well written. There is no problem keeping them all straight. There are really no "slow" parts to the book, but the last 1/3 has so much action you just have to finish it. Definitely an adult book. I'm glad Christopher Smith is on our side.

If you love a good mystery and a book that you cannot put down, then you MUST read Running of the Bulls. I love Smith's characters and colorful descriptions of the settings. He keeps you on the edge throughout each chapter and at the end of the book. I have read all of the books in the series and waiting patiently for the next book of the series to be ready in a few months.

Action, action, action, action! If you're looking for non-stop action, revenge, and even a plot twist or two, RofB is your book! Smith starts the book with action, fills it with action, and leaves you wanting more. This book is centered on the age old vice of revenge (oh, so sweet), and does not disappoint. While many of us come to this book by way of Fifth Avenue, it is not a requirement at all to enjoy this book. Smith even gives you the first nine chapters of Fifth Avenue at the end of RotB in case you wanted to get ready for Park Avenue (can't wait!).
For the grammar police, yes, there are a half dozen mistakes, but you just kind of notice them and move on. I've seen a few harping on realism, checks, etc. That's why it's called fiction, people. It's for entertainment. We all watch movies and tv shows full of actions and effects that are supposed to be 'real', but would never, ever happen in real life. This book is for enjoyment. This book if for the suspension of real life; for escape. It's the reason many of us read books - to escape into another world if just for a little while.
So I digress. The characters in this book are interesting, and I was happy to see Spocatti again. He's one of those you just want to get their come-up-ance, but not until you see what wicked plan he has up his sleep. As far as the others, I liked Roberta better than anyone else. Sorry, Chris, but we just didn't get to see into the psyches of the others enough to make me love them. I'm eager to see Leanna again in Park Avenue, though, and see what trouble her and Marty (and Spocatti) can get into. (rubbing hands together conspiratorially and laughing maniacally).
So if you're looking for an entertaining book full of action and twists, look no further. Give Smith a try. You'll want more, I'm sure.

I was so happy to be introducted to Christopher Smith's works by searching my Kindle for new authors. I first found the Bullied series, and was immediately struck by his honesty in revealing the bullying crisis and with his believable characters. I then found Fifth Avenue and just had to read it and was hooked! Loved all the characters, even when they were despicable. When Christopher said there was going to be a book 2 -Running of the Bulls- I was anticipating another excellent read and was not disappointed. The next chapter in this series should be coming soon, and I know many people who are also eagerly waiting for that day!
Keep em coming Chris!
