5.0 out of 5 stars Good Beginning
Information in book is very helpful for beginning runners. Seasoned runners already know most of the information contained in the book. It would have been nice if they had included actually recipes or daily suggested menues.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointment - better books out there!

As someone who has run 2 marathons and 5 half marathons using the Galloway training method, I was excited to receive this book as a gift. As I read it my view changed. I was extremely disappointed with this book. There were numerous typos, which made me think that the book had been hastily put together to make a quick buck. Many phrases and tips are repeated throughout different sections in the book - adding bulk but no substance. Information was also inadequate and inaccurate - such as a comment that appeared repeatedly along the lines of any fat you ingest goes directly on your body - which is misleading - we all need fat to survive. The cardio (run/walk) program was for extreme beginners with a plan of trying to work up to a very low number of minutes of excercise. I wouldn't even recommend this book for beginners as I'd be leery that they'd receive incorrect information that would be a detriment to their health goals.

I was excited to see that the book was written(after loving his "Marathon!" book) but after reading it I was very disappointed. This book has practically no information about running in it. It seems geared more for women who are very overweight (not just wanting to lose the last 5 or 10 lbs) and for women who don't run-which is very deceiving given the title of the book. If you are already a runner, this book is not for you.

I liked reading this book. it gave alot of good information. the only down side was that i bought it with Women's Complete Guide to Running and the two books had many identical pages. and by many i'd say atleast 30 pages were identical between the two. once i read the first i blew through the second because so many pages were the same. so my advice would be to only get one or the other not both.
