This is one of the best cd's I have heard this year. Great rhythm section and the collaborations are fantastic, especially the Katie Melua tune "Don't Try This At Home." Money well spent.

I have been a UB40 fan for years, but when I heard they broke up I was sorry I never got to see them in concert and was afraid they'd stop putting out their brand of musicc. I took a chance on Ali Campbell's solo album and I must say that I was blown away. Beautiful interpretations and collaborations on any number of covers. Incredible!

Good album with very romantic songs with the touch of reggae we are used to hear form Ali.

I love all the songs specially "Devoted to you", "Running free" and Hold me tight the rest are very good too.

Great album, go ahead and buy it!

Bottom Line: Play this for UB40 fans who don't know Ali's gone solo, and they'll think it's a great new UB40 album.

Some might say Ali Campbell IS UB40 (imagine U2 without Bono), although they are a great and unique reggae band who played together for 30 years, with Ali Campbell up front on all their hits and most album cuts.

Ali actually made this album in 2007 before breaking with UB40 in early 2008, leaving the band's future in serious doubt. He also appears on 8 songs of UB40's 2008 album "Twentyfourseven" - see my review of that album for details.
