Besides Shane Johnson, this is the first Christian author I have read that I have been impressed with. The story was well-written and moving, having a largely spiritual focus. Many issues we deal with in our modern culture were addressed from a Biblical viewpoint.

One of the only issues I have with the novel is that I wished it was longer, as I read the book from cover to cover in a matter of hours. Otherwise, the story was powerful and deep, bringing to light a demonic agenda which threatens our modern society. Exactly what do I mean? When you learn a certain demon's "name" you will understand. The underlying message, woven into the fictional story, unveils the growing darkness within society, yet shows the power of the Lord Jesus despite that growing evil. This book was much more than the story of a family traveling to different runs around the country. Ignore the deeper message of this book and the Lord at your peril.

The Running Girl by Dan Blankenship is an intriguing book with an intriguing premise. What would you do if your young daughter told you that God had talked to her and told her that she needed to race? Probably laugh and think she was cute but just ignore the message. That's what Reese Mantle tried to do but Kylee and God had other plans. Reese finds himself embroiled in situations that he could never even imagine. He and Kylee trust in God and move forward step by step until the dramatic conclusion.

I enjoyed the book and the message. The book is inspirational as well as enjoyable.

Wow, what a powerful story, and I personally know the author. The book was soo good, I laughed, I cried, I was convicted, encouraged, and inspired. I couldn't put the book down, I read it all one Sunday afternoon! I started calling people and admonishing them to get the book, many of them said they felt compelled to get the book after I told them about my experience. The running Girl is a must read for people of all ages!
