This book was born and cradled in the crucible of near-death accident, broken family, loss of job, loss of home, stark medical and mental prognosis, deep, dark depression, and excessive misery. As I could hear the hoofbeats of Pharaoh's horses and the chariots of bankruptcy drawing close behind me, how would God part my "Red Sea?" Much of this book is my desire to talk things through with my former wife and the children. The pages have ached for a word that speaks on a theme that is timeless!
I chose to read this book because I knew the author had felt strongly God had a purpose in him writing this book and I basically wanted to see what his story was all about. It was refreshing to see the sincerity of his heart of repentance and so inspiring to see his determination to lean on God to help him find healing physically, spiritually and emotionally. His being willing to share openly and honestly about his sin against God and his family took great courage and humility. His story testifies to the greatness of God, how God is such a merciful and forgiving God. For anyone who believes the lie that their sin is too great to be forgiven, can find hope in this book that God is a God of redemption.
