5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Product
When I bought this, I was expecting just to save my new mouthpeice from teeth marks, but infact that was not just it. It improved tone quality! This is well worth your money!

3.0 out of 5 stars They are ok- first time using pads
I got these to protect my 2 new mouthpieces. They are oval patches that appear to be rubber and don't have a taste that I noticed - a good thing. They make the mouthpiece a little thicker, but not a problem for me, just be aware. On my Alto, they seemed to work fine, but my teeth cut through the one I put on my Tenor. I tend to move the mouthpiece slightly to change...

Very good product. Easy to apply. The cushions are the correct thickness, not to thin and not to thick. The cushions give the proper"give" to the emboucher which makes for stability and comfort.

I had to give up playing sax for a few years in high school because of my jaw problems. It worked out because I then met my husband in the drumline! Anyway, I have recently joined our town band after a 14 year reprieve from music. Last year was horrible on my jaw and my lower lip. Then, I ordered the teeth and mouthpiece saver. And........walla! I don't have to take ibuprofen or use oragel on my lip. These little pads are wonderful!

The only negative thing I have to say is that there were no instructions when I received the package. Which, is not a huge deal, but I just thought I would point it out.

There is no smell or taste at all. And, it doesn't even feel very different, but it definitely makes a difference with my jaw!

This is so worth the money!

I tend to move the mouthpiece slightly to change my embrasure. I suddenly had a piece of rubber sticking up from the pad on my lip. I've only used them for about 1 hour of playing on my new mouthpiece. They do reduce the feedback (vibration) when playing low notes, and that might be a big benefit for some. I'm going to try some other brands too - these are not expensive and I want to keep the mouthpiece as nice as I can. Hopefully I'll find something that works for me - otherwise I go back to naked mouthpiece and deal with scratches.

I play clarinet and have really sharp front teeth...and I have managed to work so nice slots into my mouth piece. Without these, it would be very uncomfortable to play. These solve that problem. I will eventually have to replace the one on the mouthpiece now as my sharp teeth will cut through, but at least I can play!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!, December 29, 2009
This review is from: Runyon Teeth and Mouthpiece Saver Black
I loved it the first time I used it. It is so comfortable and does a great job of protecting my mouthpiece as well as my jaw(TMJS). I highly recommend this to anyone who either wants more comfort while playing or just want to protect their mouthpiece.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable and effective, December 27, 2008
This review is from: Runyon Teeth and Mouthpiece Saver Black
I've always used these Savers on all my woodwind mouthpieces. I use both the black and the clear in combination to keep my teeth from biting through and scratching the bite plate surface. Besides the comfort they afford, the bite plate is always kept in pristine condition; which is an added point in reselling your mouthpiece.
