A very charming little movie, cute and cuddly characters with sharp, funny dialog. Obviously not a big budget studio movie, the makers of this precocious gem have put every dollar onto the screen -- showcasing the natural beauty of the gorgeous Utah scenery, and peppering the finale with hilarious "Home Alone" style gags that are well-filmed and concisely cut. Yeah, there's a couple of fart jokes, but I bet they make you giggle, despite your better judgement. The acting in this quirky opus is not always stellar, but somehow you want to stay with these people and see how the story plays out. Rupert appeals to the secret superhero in us all, nurturing the belief that we all have an important purpose on this planet. In Rupert's case, he really does and it's great fun watching him and everyone around him discover his "powers." Woe be to wrong-doers, everywhere!

My boys loved this movie! I really enjoyed it too. Wish they would make more like these.

I was disappointed in this movie. The acting was lacking professionalism. I bought it for a grandson, but there is too much competition on the children's market of quality movies, that this one will be left in the dust! I bought it not know the quality of the production and acting, so can't really blame just the movie! The character, Rupert Patterson, has a creative imagination I'll grant that, but the era was as it says on the cover, a cross between The Wonder Years, and Home Alone... of a lesser quality!
