Positive but Political,
By E.Benson (Rural Northeast U.S.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rural Ministry: The Shape of the Renewal to Come (Paperback)
I found this book to be a positive addition to my collection of rural ministry-focused material. However, I did find the over emphasis on Eco-Theology and the liberal political slant a bit overwhelming at times. Not all patriotic groups and citizen action movements are "hate groups" as presented in the text. These comments can leave a bad taste in the mouths of devoted, Christian constitutionalists working in rural ministry.

Challenge to Renewal!,
This review is from: Rural Ministry: The Shape of the Renewal to Come (Paperback)
I have used this book in my ministry and found it to be a great resource to introduce issues that are hard to face. As a study guide it challenges people to look at issues from a variety of angles. If we are going to renew our community we will need to include input from all the neighbors. It offers practical and hopeful advice while giving a comprehensive look at the landscape. Invaluable!
