5.0 out of 5 stars Progressive Mix -- WOW!
RUSH HOUR conjures up images of being stuck in traffic: wrong! This CD is like speeding; this CD strts out at a high energy level, and then goes into overdrive for most of its length. This is "peak hour" material; the stuff to play when the danced floor is packed and everyone's "into the groove". Fast, upbeat, great rhythms and breaks.

3.0 out of 5 stars a style switch in the middle dooms the disc
All hands on the bar, keep your back straight and head up, it's time for a ride with pumping progressive peak tunes (says the cover) by Moonshine man Dave Aude. There'll obviously be no journey by DJ here, but the point is to keep you banging without burning out, a process that could turn monotonous if not handled properly.

That Aude does well, mixing stomping house and funky techno with an eye for more than mindless bpm. Just look at Oliver Lieb and Smoked's "Metro," hard but not full-bore, or DJ Remy's driving b-line fueled "Home Again," relaxing your brain while the beat lurks underneath to move your body.

Unforgivably though, he switches record crates at the midway to dig up a string of simplified, energetic claptrap spouting lines like "Jump and Dance to it," and "Let's take it back to the old school." Really, hadn't our music progressed beyond this nonsense years ago? Andy Ling's "Fixation" tries to salvage the remains, but by then you'll feel too cheated and DJ'd down to. Let's hope Dave finds those missing records next time out. C

Dave Aude has been experimenting with pounding bass & rhythm tracks on his earlier dance mixes, but this time he puts it all together with trance and vocals into a killer set.

A great dance mix--makes you want to dance: I don't think you can listen to this without dancing.

This CD is great! After seeing Dave at many club events here in SO-CAl (esp. Club Rubber)all I can say is this comes as close as you can get to feeling the vibe he creates live. One great track after another, mixed as only he can. With his own special flair for the original and innovative style of mixing he brings, just turn it up and let it rip! Then see him live when ever you can!

5.0 out of 5 stars Progressive from start to finish, September 20, 2001

WARNING "Rush Hour" by Dave Aude is a progressive album, which is not a bad thing in any way, the problem is many fail to realize this. Yes it is true, this album is set to one pace the whole album, no high or low points, but once again this is not a bad thing. Dave Aude did an excellent job with his track selection and mixing, just pop this CD in and watch any techno fan in the room start moving. All tracks are top notch, but my personal favorites are "Excession", "Push that thing" & "Freebase". For all you progressive fans out there, if you don't own this one go out there and get it.

This CD is so sweet & sugar coated it made my teeth fall out. Overall it is a well mixed CD and there are a few good songs, I'll give Dave that. However, its just a bland mix that takes you nowhere. I was highly disappointed by the CD and wanted to take it back for a refund immediately!!! If your a true fan of real/underground progressive music I'd stay as far away from this album as you can. It's 100% commercial, commercial, commercial!!!...
