My hairstylist uses this on me.,
This review is from: Rusk Anti Curl #2 For Color Treated Hair (Health and Beauty)
My hairstylist uses this product on me and it has been a godsend. For over 30 years, I have had frizzy hair. My hair is not curly, it just has a slight wave. I used every kind of conditioner and hair product but my hair still frizzed with any kind of humidity. I got teased as a kid and as an adult people would think they were giving me some amazing advice when they told me I should use a conditioner. I would not trust myself to apply this product, I do believe it should be left to the experts. I buy this myself and bring it to my hairstylist - they don't carry this brand. It smells a bit like one of the creme hair removers ie, Nair. After it's done, my hair is straighter and I can go out on a humid or rainy day and not have to worry about looking like I just stuck my finger in a socket. It gives my hair a nice shine and it feels baby soft. You do have to take better care of your hair and deep condition it when you use this product because after all, it is a chemical process.

Rusk Anti Curl #2, Not a hair streightner.,
This review is from: Rusk Anti Curl #2 For Color Treated Hair (Health and Beauty)
Hello!!I'd like to share my experience with this product. Hopefully someone will find it helpful. I have very curly, coarse medium hair. I wanted streight sleek hair. I was going to use a different brand relaxer. ...But someone from a hair care store recommended this product. I am not sure if she ever used it herself. But I still took her advice since she seemed to know alot about hair. She recommended me, formula #2 for coarse, porous, permed or highlighted hair. She told me it was gentler than regular relaxers. I used it myself, I followed all the instructions carefully. When I was finally done. There were still curls in my hair, but not as curly as they were before. Now I have wavy hair. But this is deifinetly not a hair streightner. Although this is very gentle on your hair it is more of a texturizer. The thing that I really did not like about it was that it left my hair drier and frizzy when my hair finally dried. Although it's supposed to make your hair less frizzy... it just didn't work for my hair. But who knows your hair might work with this. But really, if you were to ask me, how I felt about the product, save your money and go to a hair salon place to get your hair done, if that's too expensive, I am sure there are other relaxers that are better than this. Note about the product: (in the pamplet it says not for bleached hair) And it does not come with any gloves/applicator/or fine tooth comb, you have to buy those sepretly. And if your sensitive to smells, it doesn't smell too good it kind of smelt like bad egg, very strong odor. X_X; There are 3 types: Formula #1: For normal hair Formula #2: For coarse, porous, permed or highlighted hair. Formula #3: For resistant hair (extremely curly hair and African American hair). I really had high hopes for this product but I did not like it. Sorry. I suggest doing a strand test before you put it on your hair to see if you like the results. Or better yet, go to your local hair salon place and get your hair done. :)

Great for coarse but fragile hair,
This review is from: Rusk Anti Curl #2 For Color Treated Hair (Health and Beauty)
I have been using this product for 15 years. I have very curly and coarse hair, but it can be easily damaged. If you follow the directions correctly, it loosens the curly and make it less fizzy and softer. It does not completely straighten all the curl out but it is MUCH nicer and I don't have to worry about damage.

I have very dry curly hair and to add to it I do color my hair. I love this product if you follow the directions it will work for you. I used it for years when I wore my hair straight. When I used it as a straightener I would let my hair air dry and then flat iron it. You do have to condition your hair and take good care of it when using chemicals on it.Now I do wear my hair curly but still use this product because my hair is so uneven with the curl. It is very curly underneath so I leave the product on underneath for about 10 minutes and then do the top of the back, sides and crown for only 5 minutes. I will usually do the back on one week and then the sides and crown on another week. I always do it myself so this gives me more control. I use the product about once every nine months. I only treat the new hair that has grown out. You have to remember that even people that have straight hair and perm their hair still do not have hair like a person with natural curl. Just like the curly hair going straight does have its issues as well. The thing I do like about this product is it does last and if used correctly will do the job without damage.

With any DIT Hair Treatment your risking your hairs health. I've fried my share of strands in the past trying to achieve the look i want. I had wanted to do the Brazilian treatment but after EXTENSIVE research decided living in NYC was exposure enough to harmful carcinogens without dipping my head in formaldehyde. In my reading I learned about this Rusk treatment and finally decided to give it a shot. I did not leave it on for as long as prescribed and did not pull it straight (in an attempt to avoid breakage) After getting a trim (that I did professionally) it looks great! I'm constantly receiving compliments on my new look. Def worth a try! I've recommended it to many of my mop headed friends. :)

A LOYAL USER,
This review is from: Rusk Anti Curl #2 For Color Treated Hair (Health and Beauty)
I have been using Rusk for 8 years. My salon applies it for me. I straighten my daughter's hair myself at home (it truly comes out wonderful). However, I feel safer with the salon application because I have been coloring my hair for a long time. Since I do two chemical treatments to my hair, getting them done in the salon is the way to go for me. If I had virgin hair like my grown daughter does, I would definitely consider doing the straightening at home. I have always used Rusk #2 or #3 (I let my stylist decide which level to use at the time of straightening). I have never had a problem with breakage, damage, etc. I usually get my hair straightened 2 to 3 times a year. ONE time when we moved to another area, I made the mistake of being talked into a different product. Rusk is the only straightener I will ever use. I have very curly hair which is super hard to manage. Rusk loosens the curl, controls the frizz and truly makes my hair manageable. What more can you ask for!!!!

I have fine hair that is very susceptible to humidity. During the NY winters when the humidity is low, all I do is blow it dry and off I go. Once the summer humidity sets in, I too, look like I stuck my finger in an electric socket! This product softens my hair and still lets it have body and its "normal" wave but no frizz. My hairdresser does it for me. It is a chemical process so I only do it once per year in early June. It has grown out and been cut off by Fall. I would not want to treat the same hair twice since my hair also has color in it. I have used it for at least 5 consecutive summers and I love it.

I ordered this item, which I tried getting at the stores by me. I then decided to try on line. And to my surprise, I ordered the item, and in a few days it was delivered to my door. Great service. Thanks.
