To create volume, bend head upside down while drying. Position the airflow toward the roots for maximum lift. When hair is dry, toss head back and brush hair into place. To straighten, work with hair in sections. Use a large round brush, paddle brush or styling brush and hold hair taut in each section. To make waves, grasp hair at roots and scrunch between fingertips while drying

A YEAR LATER:
It's been over a year later and this dryer is still going strong! The drying time is shorter than other hair dryers, and the dryer still works just as well as it did when I first purchased it. I LOVE this blow dryer! Will definitely be buying another one whenever this one finally dies.
Now that said... I have always purchased the FHI heat Platform Nano salon Pro 2000 blow dryers for the past 8 years. The model has changed through out the years but they are pretty much the same. I was and still am happy with this line.
This time I needed a blow dryer fast since I broke the one I had, but wasn't in a place to shell out $130 for a luxury item. After searching through Amazons listing of Blow dryers the Rusk W8less professional lightweight ceramic tourmaline hair dryer stuck out to me by the amount positive reviews and the specs I wanted.
This dryer is light weight and holds up to the amount time of being continuously ran when drying my hair. It isn't that loud but loud enough to where I have to turn volume up on TV when drying my hair. I found that my hair was smooth and shiny. I have added before and after photos. I found this dryer to be just as good as the FHI heat hair dryer and would highly recommend it for any one looking for a higher end hair dryer but looking to keep the price reasonable.
After reading reviews, going to beauty supplies and big box stores, I decided that the Rusk W8less hair blower met my needs. At 2000 watts, this is a powerful tool. I have thin, baby fine hair and don't need to use it at its highest setting. If your hair is thick, this should be more than sufficient for your needs.
March 26, 2015 Update: My hair blower is still working perfectly and I will definitely continue recommending the Rusk W8less Professional Lightweight Ceramic hair blower!
One of the features I looked for was the ability to clean the screen filter. Over time, hair products and dust can cause the filter to clog, overheat the motor, and prematurely destroy the unit. The Rusk filter can be removed and cleaned.
It has multiple settings, including a cool one. An important feature I looked for was a nozzle concentrator. This one allows a thin stream of air to focus on a small section of hair. That means that you won't be drying/frizzing the surrounding hair as you dry that one section. Should it matter to you, please note that, the nozzle is a dark color, while the dryer itself is more of a light ivory tone.
The Rusk is a bit lighter in weight than my old Babyliss. Its weight compares favorably to others on the market today. As a unit with a decent capacity motor and durable housing, the Rusk impressed me.
You can buy hair blowers anywhere from around $20 to more than $200.Read more ›
