2 very good songs,
By A Customer
This review is from: Russ Ballard (Audio CD)
I ordered this album after hearing the songs on Miami Vice several years ago. The song In The Night was later redone by Ace Frehley of Kiss (the Russ Ballard Version is much better). The song Voices is just great. Play this one to your girlfriend when you can't figure our which personality you are talking to.

A must for the Miami Vice fan.,

I got this cd when I learned it had the song "Voices" on it. This incredible song was used most effectively in a very early episode of Miami Vice. An episode about the end of the notorious Calderone. It is a haunting song. One you can definitely drive and get pumped up to. It is hard to find good music like this anymore. As for the rest of the album, I considered it a nice bonus of well crafted songs.

Pure rock album,
This review is from: Russ Ballard (Audio CD)
This was the one of the very few albums i listened to & loved every track. Here there is alot of pulsating rhythms & vigorous sounds from "In the night" & the fantastic "Woman like you" to the ecstatic "Two Silhouettes" finaly to the classic "Voices", with this album it does not get bad but better.
Russ Ballard is a rock icon that didnt get due recognition, he even wrote a song which Ritchie Blackmore,in his heyday, recorded & released it in Rainbow's 1981 classic album "Difficult to cure", it was titled "I surrender". If anyone is interested in 80's rock, they will definitely enjoy this album, after 20 years since i fisrt heard it, the songs are still as invigorating as ever.

Songwriter Ballard's Brightest Moment,
This review is from: Russ Ballard (Audio CD)
Guitarist/songwriter Russ Ballard was a member of Argent, which had hits with "Hold Your Head Up" (#5, 1972) and the Ballard-penned "God Gave Rock and Roll to You." Ballard's moderate success as a solo performer has been overshadowed by his songwriting prowess; his songs have been covered by countless rock artists, including Rainbow, Santana, Three Dog Night, and America.

Great guitars and vocals from ex-Argent vocalist-axeman.
Some very good song-writing, this recording sounds sonically great. Every song on this album is very good. This CD is a keeper!

One of Rock's best songwriters,

If it weren't for Born In The Usa (BRUCE) & Reckless (BRYAN)I would consider this to be the Top FM Rock album of the 80's. Did this LP come out of the blue you ask? Some of the people having performed songs by this rock legend are: KISS (they covered God Gave Rock'n'roll To You, a song Russ had written for his former band Argent), HOT CHOCOLATE (So You Win Again), AMERICA (You Can Do Magic, Jody), RAINBOW (I Surrender), FRIDA (I Know There's Something Going On), ELKIE BROOKS (No More The Fool), THREE DOG NIGHT (covering Liar from Argent's first LP), SANTANA (Winning, Nowhere to run) and also SAMSON, ROGER DALTREY, ACE FREHLEY and many others. This album really gives me the creeps each time I listen to it. In my hometown Thessaloniki, Macedonia Hellas it's amongst the 10 most favourite rock LP's of the 80's. Although my favourite song is The Last Time, each time I hear In The Night I feel like I'm racing through the streets of Miami with Crockett & Tabs.
