He is SUPER cute and very lovable and cuddly!

The fact is it's not exactly like the pictured one, being less and differently stuffed in the head so the face looks baggy and not friendly at all.

Maybe I'm just confused, but I thought a puppet had a mouth that opened so that when you put your fingers in it, it appeared to be talking.

This delightful hand puppet allows a child to endow George with all the characteristics her imagination can conjure. A good size, easily manipulable and yet cuddly as well. Its greatest educational value is in helping a very young child exercise her creativity and limitless self expression; but he's also a stimulus for young readers, as he is the perfect companion for the Curious George books which are now in abundance, thanks to the television series.

My 3 year old loves Curious George and I was thrilled to find this. He is a hand puppet but if you are wanting a stuffed animal instead, don't be afraid to order this one anyway. He is SUPER cute and very lovable and cuddly! I got this for Christmas along with Curious George: Monkey Collection, Vol. 1 for a wonderful combo gift.

I bought this puppet for my child to accompany a Curious George book as gifts. The puppet I received is NOT smiling like the subtle smile in the photo, and the mouth line is actually flawed and slightly bent, giving the puppet a somewhat creepy expression. Immediately it reminded me of the famous "Robert the haunted doll", with this smile-less expression along with the blank eyes. It gives me the creeps to give this weird looking version of Curious George to my child, but since I don't have time to get another gift, this is what I'm stuck with. If you order this product, hopefully your puppet will be sewn a little better and will actually have a subtle smile.

I purchased this item as a gift. The quality is very nice, much better than I expected. Instead of some flimsy handpuppet, I received a wonderful Curious George plush toy that doubles as a handpuppet. It's made by Applause so I should not be surprised as they have been making quality plush toys for many many years. Priced at Amazon at about $17 he is a real steal.

He is super soft and stands about 16 inches tall. He has black button eyes that reflect Curious George's well...curiosity. His fingers and toes are stitched, and his red t-shirt says, you guessed it: "Curious George".

Whether you want to reflect back on your childhood, or wish to pass on an old favorite to the little ones, this plush puppet is a standout in quality and value.

Pros:
Well made
Fantastic value
Very soft, yet substantial
Perfect for all ages

Cons:
Stitched eyes would have been more child friendly

This puppet is so cute in the photo online, and I had high hopes that it would be a nice gift for my nephew, a big Curious George fan. The fact is it's not exactly like the pictured one, being less and differently stuffed in the head so the face looks baggy and not friendly at all. The arms also seem much longer than the one shown, and my much longer than average fingers only reach George's elbow. This makes for gimpy, limited movements that are just pathetic. Where in the photo George can apparently bend his arm to wave, I can only get him to bend at the shoulder. Too bad the mouth doesn't move to make up for the arms. This puppet is very soft, but in my opinion not snywhere near as cute in person as other Curious George stuffed animals (without the puppet feature), and so not worth the time or money.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas at a steal of a deal...and she loves it! I'd been wanting a puppet for her and this one is big enough that my hand fits in it easily and yet is simple enough that she can handle it (she's almost 4) with good results. She still prefers that I use it to play with her, but she has made him move and talk a few times and she picks him to play with more than I expected. We have another George plush that came from Kohl's and this one is just as soft and cuddly and well made as that Curious George product. He looks like he'll hold up well to years of use. My only con: your hand goes into the head and there's space for a finger/thumb in the arms, but the space in the arms is small. I have to really work to get my finger and thumb into the arm space.

I agree with the previous post. This is not a puppet, it is a nice stuffed animal with a hole in the back. It is very hard to get your hand in the back and when you do your finger do not go very far into the arms so all you can do is make his head nod and flap his arm around. As a puppet it moves more like a seal than a monkey. I had my husband try it also. He has much longer finger than I do, but still he could not get the arm to move much. By the end of the first day the stiching was ripping at the seam were you put your hand in. When I repair the side I am going to stich up the back and just turn it into a stufed animal. It is very soft and looks nice, but is a bad puppet

I bought the Curious George Hand Puppet at a holiday sale rate of about $13, so that was a good deal. At 16 inches, it's a dual purpose stuffed animal and hand puppet. My nephew (1 year and several months old) was very happy with it.

I had only a few minor dislikes. The hand puppet had a very tight fit for an adult's hand. Also, it would be nice if the mouth could open and close, as if Curious George could talk.

Overall, the 16-Inch Curious George Hand Puppet was a good buy at about $13. But I'm not sure if I would buy it at the full retail price of $24.99.
