Russell Reed has sung all his life. He sang in various church & school choirs from childhood till 1998, but in 1996, set out to create his own musical path. With the help of a few close friends, he started a band in 1996, but with minimal success. By 1999, he started recording as a soloist, and made recordings of songs he was never able to record with his band. He had success with The BK Blues in 1999, which was shortly followed by We're Gonna Make It Happen. Russell recorded some demos starting in November 1999 that would eventually make it onto the Classics & On The Way cd's. Once the recordings started, they didn't stop. Russell kept recording and writing new music, and in December 2000, his first cd "On The Way" was released. Two weeks later, "The Love Songs Album" was released, the same week "On The Way" went to number 1 on musicbuilder. The cd's kept coming, and in 2002, wrote a song called "If Any Man Has An Ear, Let Him Hear" and would record some Gospel cd's. He would record more secular cd's between 2004-2007, but Let Him Hear would make the most impact, and would be covered by the Southern Gospel group called Five Broke Single Boys, featuring 5 superstars of Southern Gospel together in a quartet. Russell was inactive as a recording artist and songwriter from 2007-2011, but is actively writing and recording again.
