Russell's Christmas Magic is another gem from Rob Scotton. Rob's first book, Russell the Sheep is my son's favorite bedtime story-- we love counting to fall asleep. Russell's Christmas Magic is just beautiful. Rob's has a fresh take on Santa, his reindeer and the magical sleigh. We read many books in our family, and we know that Rob's Russell books are a joy for both Ben and me. I recommend this book to all who still believe in Santa and the magic of Christmas.

I bought this book because it was on Christmas Clearance and I liked the illustrations. My girls (4,2) love it and I do, too! The story and pictures are amazing. I would buy the book for the illustrations alone because they tell so much of the story! Now, I am looking for all of the books by Rob Scotton. I am an elementary teacher, and I can't believe I hadn't heard of him until now.

Is this a Christmas tale that your child will remember for decades to come? Probably not. But it's a nice story and the pictures are gorgeous. The reindeer, in particular, are wonderful. I'm picking up a copy for our house, we love the Russell tales, and this is a nice addition to our stash of Christmas books.

We have the other Russell book and absolutely love it. We ordered this with similar hopes. The illustrations are just as wonderful but the story definitely falls short.

This is the third Russell the sheep book and the illustrations are the best yet, absolutely gorgeous from cover to cover. Rich with color and festive
atmosphere this is a great Xmas book for the kids with a sweet tale appropriate to the season. I can't wait to read this one to my niece and
I'll be first in the stores for the next Russell adventure.

I can't get over how much my 4 1/2 year old granddaughter loves Russell. In Scotton's books about Splat the Cat, Russell or Froggie always get a cameo as well. Very endearing and gentle, even though the 'saving Christmas' story seems overdone among children's books perhaps because kids like the idea of having plan B, C, D, ZZ 'just in case'.

Beautiful illustrations. Cute story, though I thought references to "the Christmas spell" unnecessarily detracted from the meat of the story and overcomplicated it for the young audience. Overall the book has a magical Christmas feel to it that makes it nice to have around during the holidays.

Rob Scotton's artwork really is amazing and I love exposing my daughter to it, she thinks Russell is the funniest thing in the world and we enjoy his stories. The story itself is not as cool as the Russell and the Lost Treasure or Russell the Sheep but still a valuable addition to our library.
