4.0 out of 5 stars good value for money, but innacurate size chart
I ordered two colors of these pants in size 'L' as part of my brother's birthday gift. The size chart shows that 38" waist is 'L'. When I gave them to my brother and he tried them on they were tight. He said, "A larger size would've been excellent". Since I wear size 36" I tried them and they were fine. So I kept them for me and now I'm reordering the same pants again for...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great pants but...
These pants are not a brownish khaki color as shown in the picture, they are properly labeled Russet on the clothing, but they are not the color shown. They fit great though, and i like wearing them, but like I said, the pants are not the color shown.

Bottom line, very comfortable pants, thick fabric, and good value for money, but order a size larger than yours to be on the safe side.

4.0 out of 5 stars great pants, April 7, 2009

Originally bought one pair of the Russet Brown they turned out to be the Olive Drab like others have said, but still they are great pants just remember that the lowest in the size range is gonna be the actual size.
Other than that they're the best pants I've bought in years besides for the camo pants i use for paintball. Also bought 2 more pairs so im not stuck with the Olive Drab color.

4.0 out of 5 stars great pants for a great price, January 8, 2010
These pants are excellent for civilian issue cargo pants. The material is thick but not too heavy and the pockets are perfect. Some reviewers have mentioned that the zipper seems weak but I haven't had any issues with them so far. As far as sizing goes, I am usually a 32-34 and the medium works fine for me. If your pushing a 34-36 I might get a large just in case.
Are these pants standard military issue? no, but the manufacturer never claims them to be. If you want a decent pair of cargo pants, these are for you. If you want USMC/Army issued BDUs, then no, you don't want these as they are very much a civilian style/cut.
I definitely will be getting more of these pants in the future!

3.0 out of 5 stars pants o.k., February 24, 2009

The pants I ordered were supposed to be a russet brown but it looks more like olive drab. Also, the size is a bit smaller than what the size chart says so if you order them, get a size BIGGER than what you think you need. Other than that, they have the "already broken in" feeling which is nice. If you wash them in warm water like the label says to do, they will shrink a little. They are made well and I have not found any weak seams or other flaws.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Pants, undecided about the Captain, March 17, 2008

I bought these pants for hiking in the woods. Nice and comfortable and and pockets for all the little things you want to have at hand. I would highly recommend them. Bought the woman's version for my wife and we had enough to qualify for the free shipping at Captain Daves. However, hers did not even come close to fitting properly. Yes we measured. So we returned her portion of order. Reordered according to the website instructions. At first, we got charged the whole amount of shipping for our entire order (their price of the "free" shipping to us) And even though we did place a large second order, it didnt matter, they claimed they still had to charge us for shipping on the first order. So a word to the wise, make sure you know what your are getting before you order from Amazon/Captain Dave, as the returns are very expensive.

2.0 out of 5 stars Blatant sizing issue is off putting!!!, December 23, 2011

Not to be a huge xenophobe but, these pants are MADE IN CHINA. It's just my personal opinion that; Americans buying qusi-military garb, made in china, seems a little strange to me.

I wear about a 41" waist & I ordered the XL 43"-47" R. Without the tabs adjusted at all, they are still snug (in a normal BDU I tighten the tabs all the way.). Also the cut is not like a BDU they are much narrower, more like a conventional pair of pants. So they are also a little snug around the thighs. In a bizarre twist, they are unusually long (for a regular cut length). They are at least two inches longer than a normal BDU.

Despite the problems above; the material that they do use, seems to be of decent quality. They are fairly thick, soft & comfy, durable looking cloth, with decent looking stitch work. From the looks of the construction I hope to get a decent amount of wear out of them. Time will tell.

Based solely on the decent looking construction, I'm giving these two stars. I don't think they are worth the price and certainly would have pasted them by in a store!
