This review is from: Russian Airlines and Their Aircraft (Paperback)
Admittedly, this is a niche publication catering to aviation buffs, who undoubtedly will enjoy the fine photos and the rare look inside Russia's civil aviation industry. You can't fault Gordon for his style or his immense knowledge of and interest in Russian aircraft, so my only (very minor) complaints are the age of the data and its presentation in the book. Gordon acknowledges up front that a lot of airlines have come and gone in post-Soviet Russia and I dare say more have probably done so since the book was published in early 2005, particularly given the Russian oil revenue boom and the global economic downturn. This type of catalogue really begs for a yearly edition or update so the data is accurate..be warned that is NOT the latest info. Also, the data on the number and types of each airline's aircraft is presented textually in each airline's section...it would have been a little easier to read if it had been tabular. Those nitpicks aside, you won't find a better hardcopy reference on the subject.
