I purchased this CD for my grandmother's 85th birthday party I through for her. She once mentioned she likes this kind of music, and I decided to please her. The only place I could find reasonably priced CD and local shipping was Amazon. Thanks ! Party was a blast !

Over one hour of foot tapping Russian folk music played on traditional instruments including, of course, the balaika. This is happy music guaranteed to make you want to dance. Some faster pieces, some with varying speeds. I also have the VHS tape of this group doing traditional Russian folk dancing - it is a joy to watch and fascinating.
