Grafov is an honorable Merited Artist of Russia whose lushly beautiful flower paintings on lacquered trays in the style known as Zhostovo folk art are treasured by museums. This book is a beautifully illustrated set of lessons and projects for learning the techniques of Zhostovo painting as taught by Grafov in Hauser's "Studio by the Sea" workshops in Florida. Each element of the flower is pictured as it is built up step by step, from plain white undercoat to finished painting. Information on paints and supplies is given. This excellent book belongs in public library or academic arts and crafts collections.

About the Author
Priscilla Hauser has been teaching and promoting decorative painting for more than 40 years. She has appeared on numerous television shows, has written hundreds of books and magazine articles, and has travelled the world to learn about the history and techniques of all forms of decorative painting. Boris Vasilyevich Grafov is known as an honourable Merited Artist of Russia. He has been decorated with medals of the Academy of Arts, and has won diplomas and awards at numerous exhibitions in Russia. One of six artists who were chosen to go to Belgium in 1958 to represent Russian art, Boris won a Silver Medal for his work. In Russia, his art is stored as a national treasure and exhibited by major national museums.
