This CD goes well with most fine wines and Miller beer products. Though there may be too much musical diversity for fans of "cookie-cutter alternative" or "fake country" this one works for me. But then again, I have a lust for life, liberty and the pursuit of catching a buzz.

I love independent bands like Carp 18 who take their well written, diverse tunes and crank through them in a garage-rock fashion disregarding any attempt at producing a "so slick, how does the music stick to the CD" CD.

It's a cool mix of folk, punk, country, power pop and "wah-wah pedal rock" that just seems to work. In a nutshell I'd recommend it to anyone who likes the loose approach of Neil Young & Crazy Horse, the Uncle Tupelo/Son Volt/Wilco thing, Slobberbone, Old 97's etc.

What a great CD to enjoy while hanging out with good friends! Carp 18's tunes tug at the down-home, nostalgic part of all of us. Skillfully and artfully, Carp 18 captures the dark, painful side of being human, yet also celebrates the simple things that make life worth living.

A must-have CD for your collection!

Russian Racehorse is one of the finest albums i've heard in many years. Obviously produced with skill, it sparkles with quality and pride. It brings the listener into their world of pain and fear, hopes and dreams. You've gotta have it! tf
