Fariz Ismailzade is a political analyst based in Baku, Azerbaijan, focusing primarily on the geopolitics of the Caucasus region and CIS affairs. He writes regularly for publications such as Transitions on Line, Jamestown Daily Monitor and Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst, and has presented at international conferences, including the Middle Eastern Studies Association (MESA), NATO Advance Research Workshop in Kyiv, Ukraine and the Association for Studies of Nationalities (ASN). Mr. Ismailzade currently works with the International Republican Institute in Baku and is also a part-time lecturer on political science at the Western University in Baku. He holds an MA in Social and Economic Development from Washington University in St. Louis, and a BA in Political Science from Western University in Baku.
