I don't usually take the time to review products but this one is pretty excellent, so I will go the extra mile.
I do not own a boat so I cannot speak to other marine paints, but this one is certainly cheaper than any of the others I found, and available in 1 qt. increments, which is always helpful.

It was used to paint an outdoor planter box; so far it's held up a year in pretty nasty conditions with absolutely no change whatsoever. I feel like the wood underneath will probably rot internally before the paint 'fails', leaving a hollow shell of Rustoleum. Actually I sort of hope that happens, that would be amazing.

No prep was really necessary (or if it was, I didn't do it), but the application was still quite easy. As someone else noted it does 'self level' for brush strokes, but it will not compensate for egregious drips, etc.

The only thing I will note is that you should probably wear elbow length gloves if possible, and use a paintbrush you're not terribly fond of. As you can imagine, this paint is insanely waterproof even when not fully dry, and it's pretty tough to get out of brushes or off skin. I tried paint thinner, denatured alcohol, Gojo, Lava soap...I eventually had to resort to a green scrubby on my hands to avoid looking like I had stabbed Gumby (green paint).

The bottom line is, have no reservations about purchasing this. I would absolutely buy again, except it's not necessary since it's so awesome and will clearly last a long time.

This is excellent paint. Having more time than money, I used a rolled-on method to paint my MGB. It turned out GREAT!

After reviewing all of the "reviews", I sat out to accomplish a professional look. I prepped my area well then sanded lightly. I primed the surface with a compatible primer and gave my project 2 coats (as recommended), sanding in between. The completed project is one of a professional! After only 2 days, my "project" became wet but the shine and quality of the paint held up. I love the "self-leveling"...you can't see the brush strokes at all! I would recommend this paint for anyone wishing to accomplish a professional look.

I can't believe how easy this was to apply with a roller. I am floored with the result. I would not recommend "tipping" after applying by a roller as this will leave brush marks. The only thing all the reviews did not mention was how much you would need for your boat. I painted the above the water line section of my 1983 lund. I bought 4 quarts. This was 2 2/3 too much. I maybe could have snuck by on one quart, but that would have been pushing it. I put on three coats, so this would be roughly 216 sq. feet on almost one quart of paint. After seeing the finish, this sure looks like how my father in laws lund paint looks. This leads me to believe the roller method is used at the factory. Be patient. Let each coat dry and don't slurp each coat on. Give it a nice roll and do at least three coats.

I picked this paint for ease of repair on a daysailer hull. I was thinking that were I lake sailed I would need touch ups quite often and I this fit the bill. The first huge surprise was how well it self leveled. Just roll it on and leave it. No tipping required. Flat I mean FLAT, It was amazing. The only problem was that it spoiled me. I thought all marine paints must be like this. So when it came time to paint the deck I went with one part epoxy paint three times the price of this. Huge mistake on my part. I should have stuck with Rustoleum. It was a 9 coat ordeal with wet sanding brush & roller marks out between. Even with their thinner, Flowout additive, and adjusting mixes per a factory rep via email it still didn't flow out like Rustoleum. I learned my lesson. The hard way!

This paint was easy to apply, has super gloss, and was relatively fast drying. There are other more costly marine paints, but I feel that this is a good buy for the money.

I bought this paint when home depot carried it, which they no longer do and so am reordering on amazon. This paint has protected my {century old} wood window located in the shower from the constant water it's abused with. I feel it could use a new application after 4 years of daily splashes. Nothing else would have survived in this situation, this stuff is great.

The blue version of this paint has been on the top of our racing sailboat for the past two years. It has stood up fairly well to the UV, scuffing, wind, and water that it is constantly pummeled with. It has started looking thin in a few places and starting to bubble and peel in others. It has gone from looking great, to failing quickly over the course of 2 months so it is definitely time for a new coat. This is NOT a non-skid product, although we have not tried Rust-Oleum 207009 Marine Anti-Slip Additive 1/2-Pint. If you use your boat infrequently, it would probably last 5+ years, especially if it is covered and kept out of the water.

Value: 4/5
Appearance: 5/5
Durability: 3/5
Non-skid: n/a
Ease of application: I didn't help put it on the first time, we'll find out this weekend though.
