3.0 out of 5 stars Stinking, gloppy mess!! HOURS of work, October 15, 2011
I wanted an exterior paint with soap and water cleanup, that's at least what I picked up at Lowe's but the employee helping me could not match the color I wanted and then told me I couldn't have the color I wanted unless I bought that brand's paint. (Nevermind the sign that advertised color matching)
I gave up in frustration and walked down the exterior paint aisle, desperately trying to find some kind of solution for my front and back doors.

There on the shelf, DOOR PAINT! I grabbed the brown and didn't read further about what kind of paint it was. I detest glossy paint, everything about it.

I got home, stirred the can and poured some into my paint cup and (too late)realized what kind of paint I had. *BLOOP* the bottom fell out of my paint cup as the paint ate it away! Great. So I grabbed a foam sponge brush to cut in around the trim on the door. It was like rubbing oil on glass trying to get this paint to stick to ANYTHING. I was so frustrated, you could see every swoop, every stroke no matter what I used (brush or sponge), so I grabbed a small foam roller and tried that. Once you get a base coat of this stinky slimy mess down, it's a little easier each time to get coverage. But it took me hours to do a small door, as every move you make is recorded in the paint.
Going over it with a foam roller is a good solution, but it only works on the smooth surfaces. My front door is carved and grooved and the thought of trying to get a smooth surface on that door with THIS paint, makes me want to stab needles in my eyes!

On the plus side, the back door will probably not need to be painted again for years and years, this IS some thick, durable glossy paint. If you like dealing with maple syrup that shows every flaw in its surface, then you'll love this paint. The cleanup is so messy I just threw my brush away. There was NO getting this stuff out of it and the smell of the brush cleaner about made me high. I'm really just a soap and water girl at the end of the day, and this paint was way too much problem and work for me. One thing you might do, is sand your surface very well. When you think it's smooth, sand it some more. This stuff shows every flaw!!!!

Even with the windows open, fans going, and back door open, I'm still dizzy from the fumes! This has to be some of THE stinkiest paint ever made!!

EDIT a few days later: I upgraded to 3 stars, the door really DOES look nice after a few days of curing and drying. I'm going to lightly sand a few areas and touch it up. I'd also recommend FROG TAPE with this product, it doesn't dissolve under pressure. Overall if you have the time, tenacity, and willpower to dedicate to using this paint, then get it. If you want a quick in/out job, this isn't for you!
