I moved into an apartment last August with the ugliest bathroom ever seen by mankind, and the challenge has been a heavy one. Everything was so ugly that I would not take a bath until I changed it! So immediately I bought some Hammerite epoxy from another vendor. It was not a pleasant experience, and the color was just awful--a dark, dreary brown that looked like you-know-what. So, I searched for metallic paints again and finally found this item on amazon. I went to work this morning on the whole bathroom--4' x 7', tiled 6 ft. high all arround, with tub, toilet/tank and sink included. I had already epoxied these surfaces so only one coat was needed. The texture of the paint is so well prepared that it goes on effortlessly, and covers very, very well. The copper color is just gorgeous--although I've learned my lesson with epoxy--stay out of the bathroom for 3 days until it's bone dry and sets very well. Plus the fumes are fierce. Turn on the a/c 1 hour before you begin and fill the house with filtered air, and keep it at 70 degrees. Otherwise, you may be in for some unwanted surprises, like heavy dizziness (my bathroom has no window, lucky Manhattan resident, me!). But visually the bathroom is high style now, so I bought a jade dragon to sit on the toilet tank! Pretty classy, eh? I have never seen a metallic paint color that I've loved this much. So there was almost two-thirds of a quart left (I bought two), and so I painted 4 table tops, an art-desk top, 2 vases and the drawers on my desk-credenza! Now there's none left, and my whole apartment is filled with copper-colored pieces. Oh yeah, I have a mirror that I added a copper band to also, and it looks like I paid $500 for a mirror bought in a thrift shop. Awesome product, the best available on the market, in my opinion!

I used this to re-paint some older metal patio furnishing that I was ready to throw away. Paint was chipping, etc. After painting the chairs they look brand new and better than when I bought them. One major major note, this stuff is pretty toxic and i ended up buying a air mask because even outside it did make me feel a bit ill. Looks great, be careful, read the label.

Have used this paint in the aerosol version with great results, but needed to paint a metal spiral staircase and railing and decided to try the paint on variety. I like it even better than the aerosol. Absolutely no brush marks and the stair and railing looks like it was taken to an auto body shop. Can't praise it enough. Bought 3 more quarts in different colors to do lamp bases, porch glider etc. This is a wonderful product.

I bought the silver paint to paint some panels on my 45 year old tractor, I sanded them and wiped them off with mineral spirits, then applied with a foam brush, it looks great. I also added some wet look hardener and stirred in. The paint looks like it was sprayed on, no runs or thin spots, and easy to touch up. I don't know how it will wear but so far it is great finish.

Please note the 5-star rating I gave this item - the color is still very pretty. I just painted a metal fence with it. If you notice that this review is a year or so old, send me a comment, I will tell you how it holds up in the Southern California sun. I used a 3/4-inch nap roller to put it on. Worked beautifully. I don't know why the product description on Amazon says that two coats are needed. The can does not say that. But I did that anyway. What the can does say is that a second coat may be applied withing 4 hours (but wait about 30 minutes for the surface of the first coat to feel dry) or if not within 4 hours then only after 7 days. I did two coats. The hammered finish is really tiny spots on the paint surface - not really noticeable on the railing but may be more noticeable on an area of larger flat surface. The color BROWN is much lighter than the Amazon picture shows (accurately - it's the same on the actual can). The picture shows almost an oiled-rubbed bronze (venetian bronze) color. It's not. It's like a shade or two darker than chocolate milk but with a hint of metallic in it. Especially in the sun it looks light colored. Still I like the color. However, if you are very particular about it, I suggest spot testing it before doing the whole thing to see if you like it. It only takes 30 minutes to dry to give you a very good idea of what the final color would be.

UPDATE:
I painted something else in the backyard with it (a metal door under a built-in gas bbq grill) and this time I took a photo of the can with some paint spilling over the label where it says "Brown" so you can see the actual difference of the colors (everyone's monitors are different so this should help to see both colors at the same time and be able to have a point of reference).

Color Name: Silver
I bought a house last fall and everything is great except for the VERY rusted, nasty metal pole that attaches to the mailbox. Bought a quart of the hammered silver and applied it with a sponge applicator and the thing looks brand new. It was a breeze to apply and dried quickly for the second coat. The finish is beautiful. This paint saved me from having to dig up the post and spend $75 to replace it.

Only caveat is not to get any of this stuff on your hands - it's very hard to scrub off.
